They have a real conundrum up North with 2 official languages and a province, Quebec, that narrowly voted against secession earlier this century.

A neighbor, who is Canadian, told me that people can't buy homes around Toronto because of the lack of housing inventory. Those who own homes won't sell because they know they can't buy another. He and his wife, who is a Texan, moved to the states so they could buy a home.
