Here's all you need to read. Oblivious to their own racism.

Sounds similar to complaints of the nobility in England after the black plague contracted the labor pool. Couldn't keep the peasants working for pittances and had to pay them more, or **gasp** do some work themselves!

Dems, scream for living wages.

Dems, who's going to mow our grass and pick our crops and get paid under the table?

Dems, the party of slavery, they are just ridiculous.

Repubs like me used to think the free market should determine the worth of a man's labor.

I have found theres only two ways to go:
Living fast or dying slow.
I dont want to live forever.
But I will live while I'm here.

Serfdom began in Russia essentially because of the "time of troubles" that led to mass death among the peasantry and the abandonment by the work force of the large agricultural estates.

So the Nobility got together and tied Peasants to the land.

[The "Time of Troubles" refers to a period of significant political turmoil in Russian history that began in 1598 with the death of the last Rurik dynasty Tsar, Feodor I, and ended in 1613 with the establishment of the Romanov dynasty, marked by dynastic struggles, famine, peasant uprisings, and foreign invasions, primarily from Poland and Sweden; essentially a period of civil war that nearly destroyed the Russian state.]

[Serfdom in Russia began in 1649 when a legal code was introduced that gave landowners complete authority over their peasants. Serfdom was abolished in 1861.
  • The 1649 Law Code gave landowners the right to control the lives and work of their peasants, including their right to move.
  • Serfs were usually bought and sold with the land they worked, which transferred estates to new landlords.
  • The state banned the sale and mortgage of serfs without land.

One problem....when the government sets a minimum wage and then allows alot of illegals in, then American's can't get the jobs because the illegals work below the minimum wage line. So, the minimum wage is the government not allowing the free market to work. Prove me wrong.

Why would I try to do that? I am against minimum wage and unions. The market should determine the the worth of a man's labor.

How do you feel about the Federal Government and Corporations using American tax payer dollars through groups like USAID to import in millions of 3rd world people to artificially inflate the labor pool?

The fascists (Dems) are still the party of slavery but it looks different: illegal aliens paid low wages, human trafficking for sex slaves, socialism, etc. It's all about self proclaimed elites who want to control everybody & everything.

Yep, they are definitely the party of slavery, past, present, and future.

The ideal minimum wage is zero. Some workers are worth more than others so they should be paid accordingly. The government should not get involved because they screw up the labor market the way they screw up everything else. On the Left coast where the minimum wage has been inflated ridiculously, many restaurants replaced people with kiosks or robots (I've seen them in Texas) or closed their doors.

It's really simple: would you rather have a job at $10 per hour or no job at $15 per hour?

Traditionally America has welcomed immigrants, especially those fleeing dangerous countries. You know the old "give me your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. The wretched refuse" etc etc. I know most of yall were probably actually here to begin with but some of our families were immigrants.

Repubs and dems have refused to reform immigration. Our system needs to be changed. it favors Eropeans and the rich. It Filipino friend of mine worked on a green card for 8 years to get her citizenship. Trumps in laws accomplished their dual citizenship with "chain migration" very quickly. So the deal is if you win a lotteery and get a chance to work in America for many years. you may get a chance to get citizenship. Or if you are white and your daughter marries a millionaire you can probably get in pretty quickly.

Now Trump is selling citizenship to the very rich.

Sorry for the length. In short, I think we need to reform immigration. Screen carefully, allow families and put them on a short leash. Cant find work? Go home. Arrested? Go home. Kids dont go to school? go home.

BTW our country needs low wage workers. Our welfare system has been so generous Amricans dont want to work low wage jobs. They would rather sit around and collect a check. I would rather my tax money to feed a poor kids in Africa than feed a grown man in Texas.

I give that Reps. and Dems. both love cheap labor.

And a single poem on the Statue of Liberty was never USA policy or USA law.

Plus those immigrants you are talking about came with limits....and almost all were from Europe.

Important to remember that

It's the most tone deaf thing i've ever read. Billionaires complaining about losing indentured servants. Plus high tax supporting Dems not paying taxes.

You could even go more recently than that to the late 1800s and early 1900s when the "new" wealthy started to take over and the nobles were going broke because just owning land was no longer making money.

If our welfare system is that generous then it needs to be reformed. Immigration needs major reforms as well but they are different issues.

Welfare needs reform. That would fix the worker problem, at least a part of it. I assure you that the MAGA repubs would be willing to reform it, but we know that the Dems and the RINOs absolutely will fight any real meaningful reform. Your progressive allies will call it racist, like every other common-sense legislation.
