1. If I invite someone into my home, I try to be a gracious, welcoming host. It is not for the purpose of ganging up on him, berating him, and insisting that he kiss my ass.

2. Zelensky held up pretty well. My favorite was his response to being chastised for not wearing a suit, "I will wear a costume when the war is over,".

3. It appeared that Trump was carrying someone else's water.

He has been wearing a costume for 3 years now

He sits in a presidential palace in Kyiv that is hundreds of miles way from the trench lines in Donbas….yet he wears his fake military garb

He jet sets to meetings in Western Europe and the USA (staying at 5 Star hotels) and still shows up in his faux fatigues

Talk about a costume!

He and his paid for publicists and PR people have explicitly been trying to copy Churchill

I respect VZ's service and what he has dealt w/ these past 3 years......

But - they (UKR) - at the very least - need a Sr Diplomat to handle these public appearances and deals from now on.

I really don't care what people wear. You would think that the Liar of the Free World could find a competent tailor for his ridiculous suites. Can someone teach him to tie a necktie properly. It is belt length, not pecker length . geez

Call me when they chastise Musk for the hat and tshirt nonsense he keeps wearing inside the Oval Office. Just feels like that is who the outburst is reserved for.

I'm pretty sure Trump isn't stupid. Nor Vance. Their goal is to bring peace. When zelensky gets on board there will be. I'd be surprised if Zelensky isn't in the White House next week. Witha different tone. Trump also.

Forgive me if I can't help but think that had Trump done exactly what you said and was nothing but a gracious, welcoming host, and had that reporter who asked Zelensky about wearing a suit been a liberal democrat reporter, then your three points would have been:

1. Why was Trump so nice to him? There's a bloody war going on and Zelensky apparently doesn't want to negotiate for peace. Trump and Vance have to ambush him and really twist his arm, but instead they play the gracious, welcoming host like it's a dinner party or something. For God's sake, people are dying.

2. Zelensky was a smart ass to the reporter who asked him about not wearing a suit. That reporter should get a raise. Since Trump obviously isn't serious about ending this war, then Zelensky needs to be. "Costume"? He needs to quit wearing that Winston Churchill costume and be a real leader.

3. Why isn't Trump carrying the water of the European countries? They've got so much more at stake than we do.


We get it. Trump and conservatives need to be wrong at all times and all costs.

If you watch the thing, Zelensky did not "mouth off," he was negotiating for his country.

Lost in all of this was what the heck the terms of the deal might have been. I'm still not even sure what the United States was offering, because Rubio is basically saying he has no idea if peace is possible, but if there is a 1% chance, we need to try to get Russia to the table, and ask them if it's possible.

Were we offering to ask Russia if there is a chance for peace? In exchange for natural resources Ukraine will need to rebuild its country and stay independent of Russia/China? I'm sure we offered more than that, but it's just unclear.

In spite of all pros and cons it seems evident that if the war continues two more years Mr Z will be out of men to fight. What will he do then? Send the women to the front lines? Or will NATO send men so the war can carry on?
