How is China's trade doing with the tariffs? afterall they need us more.
Whiterock says we're all going to look like damned fools…um next year of course.
Yep.
The economy ran on Biden policy until August. We're barely 90 days into implementation of Trump policy. It will indeed be next year before we start to see clear trends, which should be very strong given the amount of capital investment flowing in from the trade deals.
But never fear, there will always be experts who insist that the prior guy had no impact on where we are, and that the current guy is at fault for not snapping his fingers and fixing everything at all once.
You are such a bamboozled wanker. Trump policy didn't take effect until August?
That is a plain fact. the BBB was passed in July. Tariffs started going into effect after that. The most important features of the BBB do not actually start until Jan 1. And throughout the entire year, the federal government ran on the Biden budget.
Do the pullout in Afghanistan too!
LOL Biden didn't have to continue the pullout. He could have stayed in place his entire term. He had US troops and US fighter/bomber aircraft on the ground in Afghanistan. Inexplicably, he didn't lift a finger to counter the approach of Taliban forces, to keep them well away from our departure. By any measure the execution on the withdrawal was a complete & total f-up.
going to be fun watching you guys who are blaming Trump for the mess he inherited explain how Biden is responsible for the turnaround that will happen next year.

Funny, you guy's are the only ones mentioning Biden or Obama. They are both long gone. This is on the current Administration, for better or worse...
You might have a point there. The budget passed a year ago had absolutely no effect on the economy this year. The socio-economic policies of the last four years are completely irrelevant to the value of the dollar, the trade deficit, the total debt, job creation trends, inflation, housing costs, etc...... Why, now that you mention it, Democrat policies are completely irrelevant in all times, places, and substance. Only the GOP is to blame from not snapping it's fingers and fixing all problems all at once with complete support of a restrained judiciary greasing the skids for change.
Thanks for opening our eyes!
When did Biden's budget expire?

Some will arrive in 2026.
Some will arrive in 2027.
Some will arrive in 2028.
Some will arrive in 2029.
Mid-2026 to Late-2028 is looking like the peak.
So, yeah, 2027 is looking better than 2026.
Some of that is related to the process of building new plant/equipment. Doesn't happen overnight.
Some of that is related to limited capacities on energy, water, construction crews, etc.......which will delay the process.
Actually fascinating to see the organism at work. So many companies, so many people, so much money, all chasing the same thing, facing the same logistical and technological constraints....... It forces innovation. Capitalism at work. The DCs are scratching & clawing across rough ground to get a small percentage of their operation up & running ASAP and figure out grander solutions over time.

Of course manufacturing investment today will benefit soneone in America in 4 years.... this is like watching toddler economics. Throw enough **** that some sticks on the wall.
that's your approach to posts on this board, so I can see why you would project thusly.
That is not the question. The question is never "will some people profit off of government spending, and government policy? Or especially, protectionism?"
Someone ALWAYS benefits from government policy. The question is...who? Working classes will benefit from higher wage jobs (already happening) and lower housing costs (already happening thanks to deportation of illegals), etc.....
The question is whether the overall jobs market, and overall economy, or in other words, the country as a whole, benefits from this approach. So far, big fat no. Trump promised immediate relief.
LOL you can't even see what's happening. The lost jobs are all illegal alien jobs. American citizen employment is up. In other words, the economy is already responding positively to the Trump agenda. There is always short-term pain. And that is now behind us. Good stuff coming.
And of course, nobody with a brain believed him, but we are expected to think a new tax on the poor and middle class that protects manufacturing will long term benefit.... the poor and middle class. Certainly someone will work at the factories, but in an age of rampant automation, it is not like the factory jobs of old. They will be highly technical jobs. And compared to yesteryear, very few.
...those with even a rudimentary understanding of macroeconomics did, because they saw a plan that will not just work, but work to alleviate the grievances of the working classes.
The factory owners, big car manufacturers, the industries being protected, they are the ones that will benefit. Because ultimately, the power of tariffs comes from taxing low cost, foreign made goods, that are primarily consumed by the poor and middle class.
...if they're going to be made by robots......and more of them will since we're not going to be importing all comers for lower wages anymore...it's better to be built in America by American robots than in China by Chinese robots.

It is well planned. Bessent knows what he is doing.
Indeed Bessent knows what he is doing. One of the reasons some Dems voted to confirm him as Secretary of the Treasury.
Ironically I trust Bessent ( and Rubio ) far more than Trump.
That is not ironic in the slightest. Everyone in the country trusts Bessent more than Trump. Guy has a brain in his head.
Yet, he was Soros right hand man for many years. You remember Soros? The most hated man in the world 18 months ago? Now, we trust Soros financial advisor who shorted the Pound to run the economy. You guys don't see anything quizzical there?

Actually we will be watching you say it will be 2027 before all the benefits arrive.

The country trusted a guy with dementia to lead better than Trump. A dead corpse could have beaten Trump in 2020. Nothing curious at all.

Congrats. You have offered the dumbest comment on a message board awash in dumb comments.
The 2020 election was America venting about COVID response. Nothing more nothing less.
The Ds hated Trump in 2016 and 2024 and yet he won.
You crazies on the Left refuse to learn the lesson that I Hate Trump is not a winning election message. BTW neither was I Hate Obama.

It's not about hate, it's about motivating voter turnout. Trump himself tapped into a voter base that had not been regularly voting. It's the Trump on a ballot effect. If he's on the ballot, GOP wins everything, if he's not, these people don't vote.
The effects of extreme bias in the media shouldn't be underestimated. If Trump appears on the ballot for a 4th time, he will lose badly, for the same reasons as the second time. People will be very fed up with him. The media does play a large part in that.
And no, the Ds did not have nearly the hatred for Trump in 2016, that they did in 2020.
I'm happy to correct more posts if you will keep going.
