I'm more frustrated that we've not solved this problem for 25 years. There is no will to have legal immigration, a guess worker program and a path to citizenship for people who've been here 30 years.

In my time in Texas, it's always been "accepted" that a significant part of the workforce and economy was here illegally. And we benefited from it. I don't like the anger towards these guys. In many cases, I've preferred migrants in job sights over union electricians.
Reagan tried that sort of amnesty, and it ended up a disaster. I could of course understand why someone on the left of the spectrum would want that, as it will increase the voting base, but it would be foolish for Republicans to agree to any sort of amnesty, IMO.

First, non citizens can't vote. 2nd, You don't know how people will vote. Last election saw 50% Hispanic vote to Trump.

It's not amnesty. It's dealt cards. It's the hand we all hold. What are we gonna do with it?
If you provide a pathway to citizenship, then the people granted amnesty (I am not sure you can describe it as anything else) will eventually be able to vote. Again, Reagan tried this, and it was a disaster.

We all know there are speeders on the highway. In fact, most of us probably fall into the category of speeder. However, when a speeder is caught we usually don't scream about how unfair a ticket is. The risk of the ticket was assumed. When a person fails to control their speed and hurts someone or damages something the expectation is that they are held accountable just as they are held accountable for paying a ticket.

So, while many of us Texans have assumed there are plenty of illegals in the state, I don't think there are that many of us that would say they should not assume the risk brought on by their behavior.

To paraphrase Beretta, if you can't to the deportation, don't do the illegal immigration

Reagan's plan needed a guest worker program.

GWB tried hard for this and Ronald Reagan also had a pathway to citizenship. It is my opinion those with over 10 years productive labor and law abiding should have a pathway to citizenship. I don't like the anger at all towards the immigrants wanting to be productive workers and make a better life for their familes.

One of my best friends growing up, folks were illegal I'm pretty sure, his dad was a ranch forman and a great guy. His mom worked in the cafeteria at school, even though in Mexico she was an actual school teacher. I ate at their home with them many times. He was at our house plenty.

We worked in the cotton fields together a couple of summers and he was a roomate of mine in college for a year, before he decided he wanted to go back home. The Hispanic family is very close knit and he was homesick. Told me he regretted that decision on many occasions.

I also worked in the fields with immigrants a couple of others years, though not together. I worked with my brothers and a couple of friends and they worked at the other side of the property doing the same work chopping cotton. We had different work patterns as I would stay out in the fields 100% of the time except lunch, they would rotate, some resting in the back of their PU some working, never all out in the fields at the same time.

I got paid less than minimum farm wages, I'm sure they made even less. I always hated when a white PU truck would drive by the fields, you would see those dudes hide. Felt bad for them. We would wave at them in the morning and they would wave back, but never worked in the same group.

I have never looked down on a hard working person trying to better their life for themselves and their family, it is admirable actually, it needs to be done in an orderly legal way though, where our government knows who is coming here and have control of the immigrant traffic.

Why do you suppose Reagan and GWB couldn't get the guest worker program written and passed.

Guest worked makes complete sense if done with a legal process. Heck, it would most likely raise their wages and provide them legal protections.

I'm guessing the Chambers of Commerce were strongly against it from fear of stifling growth and development.

A. Children of illegals born in the US can vote when they reach legal age.

B. Such a time frame is extremely short when dealing with flipping red states to blue.

C. Illegals are already voting in states that permit mail in balloting and easy access to drivers licenses.

D. Dems certainly believe they 'know' the long term results of tens of millions of illegals entering the country. If their bizarre policies were projected to aid Republicans; Dems wouldn't be so willing to destroy our country.

He deported over 2 million people without any of the due process protections that people today are demanding for deportees.

Fortunately for him, he was a Democrat, so it was okay.
His nickname was "Deporter in Chief"

The level of hypocrisy is amazing.

Those pictures of kids in cages, attributed to Trump,
Obama.

My opinion, someone who doesn't break the law, has been here over a decade
and contributes to society should have a pathway to become a citizen. Their life is here.
Those that have flooded the border during the Biden fiasco need to go.

The United States border however needs to be airtight.

The United States needs to regulate who crosses our borders, not the Mexican cartels.

The Trump administration has told illegals (not the violent criminals) that they need to go home and come back legally. Personally, I think the process should be made easier but we also need to control who is coming here. No gangbangers, terrorists, mental types, etc. Those people were prioritized by Biden, et al.

No, Jesus was not an "illegal immigrant" in the modern sense.
While his family did flee to Egypt to escape King Herod's decree, the concept of "illegal immigration" as it exists today didn't apply in the Roman Empire during Jesus' time. The Roman Empire controlled both Judea (where Jesus was born) and Egypt, and there were no established border controls or immigration laws in the same way that modern nations do.

Let's keep it in Today's terms. 1. Mary could not "freely" cross the border and give birth to baby Jesus, and 2. If Jesus returned today, but not into the USA, he could come with a $5M Trump coin or be banned from entering if from a number of countries.

When Jesus returns no earthly authority will have any control over it. He will come in the clouds there will be no doubt that it is a supernatural event.

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And we shall always be with the Lord."

Lol, such cringe from the brainwashed masses. Complete lemmings. Fun to watch them try to explain what they're protesting for or against. Nothing but Orange man bad. TDS is a mental disease.

You have to be brain dead to support the progressive party now. They are a party that promises nothing but chaos, division, and poverty for the masses. They are the party of China, they are the party of criminals, they are the party of systemic poverty, they are the party of increased taxes, they are the party of hate ... the list of their dystopian policies is endless.

The protest was goofy. It's the same old crowd always being victims, always
looking to stir things up, living a great life for the most part and not being greatful
for the incredible blessing they have by living in the United States.

The poor 74 year old woman interviewed, worked up into a frenzy, crying and going on and on, really signifies
what the MSM has done to people who cling to their every word.

Trump isn't king, he has no desire to be king, he won't be king, these folks simply disagree with the rule of
law being enforced. Heck with all the progressive activist judges out there usurping his authority, he can barely be president.

If I decided to go to Spain, and took up residence illegally, you can bet I would be ousted pretty quickly.
It is that way almost anywhere in the world.

These folks just don't want the United States to be sovereign. The want open borders and believe there is some utopian world civilzation which simply doesn't exist, and have no clue what
they are hoping for.

And yes, Trump is a world class troll.

Jesus never once left his country. He left territories ruled by the same country. Rome. But he never left Roman territory so he was never an immigrant. This argument people often try to use to defend illegals is wrong, lies about what actually happened and tries to rewrite history.
