Yeah, you're probably right. The more I think about it, the more this seems a troll job.

Discussion, come in peace post about fake news.

Just curious. So, something being reported on Reuters, AP, CNN Business and in interviews with Bissent never really happened?

Just trying to determine how you decide something is fake when it is being reported by multiple, even non-US, news agencies? This one for example, there is nothing out there showing it to be a ruse as you state. Even the fact check only is able to confirm White House didn't put it out there. Do you have a timely source?

Seriously, usually I check Reuters, BBC, Forbes for Business. Most "Fact Checks" are done well after the fact or news cycle. I found one that explained what happened, after a search only due to your comments. Would not have looked without your comments and if I did it is well after the initial discussions.

So, where do you check for timely fact checks?

I get your point, as there are numerous laws in effect. The next US President will be Jimmy Carter based on the 2005 law.

LOL you're the ruse.

Again, the facts: The coin in question is not being proposed for the Presidential series. It is a commemorative issue for the 250th anniversary of our independence next year. Per multiple sources, it has not been approved (which by clear implication suggests it is part of a number of design contenders). So it is not in circulation, not in production, and may never be in production. We do not even know whether or not it is being proposed as a single coin issue or one of several in a series of coins all focused on the 250th celebration, which will be a one-time run, not an "in the lineup" issue like the Presidential Series. Finally, there is precedent for living individuals being featured on special-run coinage, so the entire premise of your outrage is baseless, from appetite to arsehole. What we do know is that there will be some 250th coins next year and one of them might feature Trump & the "fight, fight, fight" incident as an example of American Exceptionalism, which would be neither illegal nor outlandish. Like it or not, that photo of him standing with a bloody ear and shaking his fist in Butler PA will be remembered for centuries as an iconic piece all-American badassery.

There just isn't a scandal here, no matter how hard his critics may try to create one.
It's merely the latest example of critics of the Orange Man showing more megalomania than the Orange Man hisself.

Here you go again. It has not been approved because it is illegal. It did not stop him from having a "commemorative design" made and "floated" out to the media. This is not about something that won't happen, it is about a pattern, a dangerous pattern of control. He floats ideas to push Executive power and then has people like you push that it has not been approved and you can't comment until it is. It is a power move.

Just like his troops in the Cities, he will keep pushing his "plenary power" until he finds a way to make it stick, see Steven Miller interview. Same with Bondi yesterday, she never answered the question by Congressional oversight, she hurled an insult back. And you guys cheer... These are all power moves testing the boundaries. At least in his 1st term he had real advisors, trading McMasters and Mattis for Hegswoth is ridiculous. Mnuchin wanted to keep the economy growing, not blow it up like Bessent. Kelly for Miller? Keep cheering.

Watch, it the GOP loses seats in the midterm, you will be saying the election was stolen...

Bondi yesterday was a new low. We have to all demand that oversight become a give and take. It's painful for the the person in the seat but a necessary evil.

Really? You are going confirmation hearings that are supposed to vet candidates? I guess the actions of Hawley, Cruz, Scott, Daines, Barrasso were not attacking?

Geez, I wish you guys would be honest. It is BOTH Parties that play this game. The difference between the "enemy" and "a protector" is very thin. Look at how many of Biden's nominees got held up or had to be pulled.

It's BS on both sides

This is not about something that won't happen, it is about a pattern, a dangerous pattern of control. He floats ideas to push Executive power and then has people like you push that it has not been approved and you can't comment until it is. It is a power move.
LOL it's not illegal just because you want it to be. Living individuals HAVE been put on legal tender coins before......

Yet, somehow, he's more popular than Obama was at the same point in the term.
Yet, somehow, he's more popular than Democrats.
Yet.....

Watch, it the GOP loses seats in the midterm, you will be saying the election was stolen...
The mid-terms were probably lost the day he was sworn in = simple history.....the party holding the WH usually loses seats in the mid-terms.

The question is not whether or not GOP loses the House in the mid-terms. That is the premise, a given. The question is, can the GOP figure out a way to hold on to it? Right now, they're working a solid plan and may well pull it off. If they do, are you going to say "well, I've been wrong about everything" or are you going to call it a fascist putsch?

The law damned sure didn't matter to Democrats.

By any measure, Trump is considerably more respectful of law. He's cited with exhaustive detail the statutory authorities for the actions he's taken. Where those actions were enjoined by courts, he honored the rulings, appealed them, and not insignificantly he's won all the final rulings. And he looks pretty good for most of the cases still pending. My money is on the square that says he is likely to lose the birthright citizenship case and that the tariff case is a tossup (could go either way). The rest should all go his way.

Pretty strong record so far. And he's relentless.....finally taking on the drug cartels (who ran the refugee flows) and even Antifa (finally).

Now, his critics, on the other hand......geez are they living in an alternate reality. They're making the publication of a proposed proof for a commemorative coin as evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors, notwithstanding that such has been done before without any complaints from either side of the aisle.

Don't you have any concept of law and order? Or is everything based on your perceived impressions of what Biden did? Biden broke the law, so now we all can? You guys are setting up a Lord of the Flies mentality. The best way to get rid of the Biden's is to get BACK to normalacy, NOT become them.

That there were lawsuits Grand Juries refered, but ended because Trump won. I forgot, Grand Juries only are valid under Trump. We have no idea if the Federal lawsuits were fictitious because Trump killed them.

As for Bide or Trump using DOJ, DOJ represents and protects the USA, not the President. The AG isnt the Presidents lawyer, the AG isnt supposed to go after who the President wants. Barr was the last real AG we had.

Only a fool or a barista would think what Trump is doing is even somewhat comparable to what Obama and Biden did.

You are the one with the problem here. It is not illegal in all instances for the likeness of a living person to be placed on a coin produced by the US mint.
Or is everything based on your perceived impressions of what Biden did? Biden broke the law, so now we all can? You guys are setting up a Lord of the Flies mentality.
Red Herring. I did not mention Biden at all.
The best way to get rid of the Biden's is to get BACK to normalacy, NOT become them.
We're didn't send a SWAT team to arrest Comey (like he did to arrest several GOP'ers accused of the exact. same. thing, did we? We didn't pass ex post facto laws to after a Democrat, did we? We didn't make up novel theories on conspiracy or aggravation or property value to get to a desired charge, did we? All we've done is investigate and indict Democrats for simple, straightforward things they actually did.

The appropriate response to what Comey did is to prosecute him, not let him off for fear things might escalate. Democrats already escalated things. They escalated on J6. They escalated with the completely indefensible prosecutions of Trump. They escalated it with FBI spying on sitting GOP Senators. Etc..... GOP must respond here. Not to do so is suicide.....to accept that the goose and the gander are not playing by the rules. GOP moderates have tried that. For years. It doesn't work. All it does is embolden Democrats to keep escalating.

Where does it end? When Democrats learn the lesson that whatever they do to us can be done by us to them.
