Very low gas prices are a double-edged sword. Great for keeping inflation in check and Joe Consumer at the pump, but a huge indicator our economy and the world economy is dragging.

While that may be true I personally would like to keep gas prices around 2,50. I drive a Yukon XL and and 1978 K5 Blazer with a 5.3 chevy ls 5.3 in it with mud tires so im lucky to get 10mpg.

Got rid of SUV and went to a Kia Soul. All the power and space I need these days. And the gas mileage is huge!

My Honda CRV is not much to look at, but it gets about 30 mpg. The best thing about it is that it is paid for. Car payments are wealth stealers.

The coyote in those old trucks is a nightmare on the drivers side. It fits but even changing the plugs would be a major undertaking.

A few years back ordered the electric Ford 'Mustang'. Primarily for the $ 10,000 tax credit.

Fun to drive ....incredible acceleration ....but really just a toy.

My Ford F 150 remains by favorite vehicle,

We had a 1949 Ford when I was a kid. My first vehicle to drive. Then a 1964 Ford F150. Not sure how many miles it had on it, but it was a bunch, over 300,000 for sure. It didnt go over 55 as Dad had it geared so low to haul our tractor Trailers. I think we rebuilt the engine in it three times.

I'll take your word for it but I love those old Fords. I have 78 K5 that I have swapped with a LS5.3 with a texas speed cam. Its pretty fun but I i've had to put some money into it. I do get people coming up to me all the time wanting to talk about it and have had a few offers. Everyone who doesnt know cars says "hey sweet Bronco" and theyre not smart enough to be trolling me bc its a Blazer.

My Dad died in 2006. His 1995 Ford F-150 crew cab with two doors sits most days in my driveway. Still runs good but I rarely drive it. Have had many approach me to buy it. I don't really need it, but I just can't sell it. It was my father's.

Maybe we are just getting older. A K5 looks nothing like a Bronco to me.

I've done the coyote swap into a Gen 1 Bronco and F100. Runs awesome. I have a customer that manufactures Gen 1 Broncos, 68-72 C10 and Square Bodies including K5.

if we don't get a decent rain soon, you can step down to some A/Ts and that will save some weight. That and a strong tailwind will get you to 10.2 mpg for sure.

I'm going to disagree here. Gas prices dropping = lower transportation costs = lower prices in all things that get shipped. Nothing is dragging at all.

I've seen wild fluctuations in gas prices this year, going up of down as much as 50 cents from one day to the next. It was $2.15 then 2.73 and now 2.45 all in the space of a week or so. There's no rhyme or reason to it.

How do we know? Apparently Trump's latest strategy is to cancel all inflation, employment, and GDP reports. Have you asked yourself why he is doing this? No news is good news?

Blaming it on the recent shutdown is not acceptable.

I agree with you. Oil/ gas prices are controlled by supply and demand. Right now we have global oversupply and lower overall demand.
