LOL. If Trump "ain't worth your time any longer" then why do you continue to obsess about him 24/7 in such an unhealthy way? Admit it - the man continuously lives rent free in your sick TDS stricken brain. Seriously - you are at or beyond Rosie O'Donnell levels of delusion.

Here's a "serious question" for you - why are you so either ashamed or embarrassed to admit what you really are, which is a devout lefty butt hurt that your gal Kommiela lost and we aren't currently suffering through the 4th term of Obama?

Lots of reasons to have voted for him, as I tried to explain on another thread.

As I said on another thread, our country was in a downward spiral prior to Trump, between out of control inflation, open borders, refusal to acknowledge biological differences between the sexes, the worst foreign policy decisions since Bush, political prosecutions, shutting down free speech, etc. Our country was going to ****, and now some semblance of normal has been restored. We are net neutral on immigration. The economy is doing well. The women and men are the same crap has been seen for the foolishness it is. Inflation has been reduced drastically. And some semblance of normal has returned. Seeing people patriotic and standing for the national anthem this past weekend was a welcome change from the identity and grievance politics of the last 4 years.

Do I like everything he's done, or some of his boorish behavior? Absolutely not. I think tariffs were a huge mistake, and I think alienating our allies over silly territorial issues is just utterly stupid. I think he's a thin-skinned child in many ways. So many of the things you dislike about him, so do I.

But as I said on another thread, the choice between evil policies and a mixed bag of good and bad policies should be an easy decision for any reasonable person.

You think the tariffs were a mistake? How else are we supposed to reduce our trade deficit and get more favorable trade deals? Trump is right that we have been getting robbed on trade for a long time.

Blanket tariffs were a huge mistake. They've been a detriment to job growth, and have been responsible for thousands of job losses. They've provided no benefit to the economy whatsoever. Manufacturing was never moving from Vietnam to the US. That's because we can't make cheap products here, and nobody wants to do those jobs anyway.

If you are a free market capitalist, you are against tariffs, which throughout history, have a very bad track record.

I said and posted on here for months prior to the election that for the first time in my life I wasn't going to vote for the GOP candidate. I changed my mind last minute based on all the pro-Hamas BS by the Dems and crazy Green Deal BS from Kamala.

I regret my vote. The reason I was not going to vote for Trump was long term v. short term. No doubt, Trump was going to be better short term than Kamala - from a traditional conservate perspective. My concern was long term. And my concerns have proven justified.

I believe long term Trump has severely damaged: the GOP, conservatism, free markets, separation of powers, our Country's reputation, ally and international relations, global security, international freedom movements, among others. I also am angry that he single-handedly has forever precluded any argument that character or the most basic level of decency matters. Laughing about "mean tweets" has turned into rationalizing or even relishing bizarre and abhorrent behavior.

I say without reservation that conservatism and decency would have been better off long term with a disastrous Kamala presidency. It would have galvanized the best of our country against liberalism and cultural debauchery.

I was wrong.

You might wanna go grab some reservation. There is no evidence at all that our country would've pulled back after that. In fact, there's a good chance that we would have imported so many illegals, and found other ways to rig voting, that it would not have been possible.

We are going to get there eventually. It's just a matter of how fast you want to get there.

You're one of the most thoughtful posters on this board, and I don't disagree much with your assessment of Trump.

Where I think you err is you greatly underestimate the amount of irreversible damage that would have been done to our country by another 4 years of the Biden admin. There's a strong likelihood that Harris would have attempted to pack the Supreme Court, ala FDR, to get her agenda passed. And of course a perpetuation of open borders, gender issues, identity politics, cracking down on free speech, political prosecutions, and foreign affair blunders would have undoubtedly been a total disaster, doing lasting damage to our country.

Republicans had crappy options, including Trump. But when it's crappy vs. evil, you better choose crappy.

Trump has to be the worst of what both sides feared. He is a threat to our Constitution by creating an imperial Presidency, he has weaponized the Fed, insulted and alienated 100 years of allies and used the Presidency for personal profit. Pretty much a slam dunk. All the while losing the part of himself that was positive in the 1st term.

He has made it worse surrounding himself with yes-men who do not question. His minions wont let anyone question. He is pretty much the worst President of my lifetime.

If you don't have borders, you don't have a country.

Donald Trump is the first Republican with a national presence since Patrick Buchanan who has been willing to tackle the immigration problem head on.

I don't think anyone who leans conservative thinks that Trump's border shutdown and deporting efforts have earned him anything less than an A / A+. Miraculous turnaround in a short amount of time.

It is everything else he needs to step it up. I am most concerned about our deteriorated relationships with our best allies. Trump needs to realize the world doesn't revolve around him. That being said, **** the Nobel Peace Prize.

Lots of countries were levying one way tariffs against us and had been for a long time. We now have more reasonable and balanced trade deals. And I think we've been paying over 2/3 of the total NATO defense spending. I don't come close to agreeing with all of the things that Trump has done in these regards, but some reset of expectations was called for. Plus, Trump will roll off in a few years, and whoever is behind him will not be remotely as bold about throwing their weight around.
