Every so often the MSM actually dies some real journalism, even on political topics. Rush Limbaugh called it "accidental journalism." An appropriate label.

Trump is a unique President, he can't be put in with any other modern President. Even Nixon had more respect for our laws, form of Government and processes. Trump is about Trump.

LBJ on line 1.
If only Trump had half the restraint and ethics of LBJ.

LBJ was the definition of sleazy. He is probably in hell right now wishing he'd thought of selling branded golden shoes.
If you want to hear real ego, listen to his call to the Hagar CEO about his pants order.

That's an idea I think we can all agree on. But many on the Left will be disappointed that the Republican they most hate won't be touched. For example, there is no evidence Trump is guilty of any of the crimes they have accused him of. All the lawfare accomplished was reveal their corruption, incompetence, foolishness, & criminal behavior. And they exonerated Trump of any real crimes.

The guy was mentioned 30,000 times in 5000 files. Come on, that isn't enough to investigate by an Independent Counsel? There is no TDS there. Actually, there is too much Trump love from his supporters saying he shouldn't be investigated. 30,000 times? And you are saying he is fine... I think you and JD have a mental issue on Trump worship and let him off on things you would be screaming about if it was a Dem..

Of course it's not a crime. But it is interesting. Epstein was not just friends with anyone. I think Donald knew Epstein was a pervert, abd liked him, but when he realized he was into underage girls, and that Epstein was poaching his employees, he cut ties. He could never admit it, because then everyone would say he should have reported it.

You have no credibility.

I said Trump was profiting. I know the following concept is beyond you, but I will try.

Why is his picture on there? Why does he want his name on everything? Hint, it is more than being a narcissist.

It is called branding. He has turned citizenship into a Trump commodity. That has value. Maybe not in your Dairy Queen employment world, but in big boy world branding has value. Notice, it is not named after the United States, the actual place where they are getting citizenship. It is named after Trump with his picture.

I know you don't get it. But, in the world of real business branding is very valuable and expensive.

This is a short estimate using various methods to determine value of brand.

"Estimating a Quantitative Branding Equivalent"
Brand valuation of such political initiatives can be conceptualized analogously to earned media value (EMV) and association premium in marketing analytics:

Media valuation method: EMV for media coverage of Trump Gold Card can be estimated using advertising equivalence coverage represents global advertising worth $100-$500 million (conservative for high-profile controversies and repeated mentions), the branding valuation would be in that range.

  • Luxury and exclusivity brand multiplier: Trump's previous branding (Trump Organization, licensing deals) suggests that alignment with wealth-generating initiatives can increase perceived brand premium by 5-15% in high-net-worth markets, providing indirect revenue through licensing, endorsements, and real estate perception.
  • Starting to get it? I take it you weren't a business major at Baylor? Watch Mad Men, that may give you an idea.

I think when it comes to Epstein BOTH parties are to blame.

Biden had the files for 4 years and did nothing.

Trump has had them for almost 2 and done nothing.

Members of Congress have reportedly seen much or all of the files. And nothing.

Members on both sides have said they are going to "name names" and…… nothing.

What gets lost in all the noise, is the limits of what can be done with the files.

Everyone who actually saw the original files, learns two things:

    1) The information in those files is anecdotal and unsupported, and essentially cannot produce a conviction. AN arrest would in the end set the accused free; and

    2) A lot of the information would cause victims to relive their suffering.

Eventually, people decided to just use the issue to attack their enemies for fun and possible gain.

    Uniparty

There was a time we were closer to the middle and were able to move bi-partisan legislation. Was that the "Uniparty"? Or was that how the system is supposed to work? Was the Uniparty bad or just the three Branches of Government working together well?

I would say the Uniparty was under the Reagan/Bush/Bush Administrations.

Clinton what actually went down was "Uniparty-ish", but he was not liked personally. So, it looks more combative than it really was, in my opinion. But the way we (the Nation) did our business was very similar to the Uniparty.

Obama/Trump/Biden/Trump I put in the combative catagory. I don't think ANY fall into the traditional GOP/Democrat philosophies. Self-serving and agenda driven, all of them. Trump 1 was the best of this crowd, as he had a mix of his combative MAGA with actual GOP/Uniparty Adults that could run the Government. I thought it worked well. However, similar to a Billy Martin coached Baseball team it could not work long term, we are seeing that now. Trump can't be a lame duck.

Overall, I thought Bush Sr was the best, but he caught it because he actually did what was needed. Clinton was similar in policy and shifts when things didn't work out, but was hated so strongly by the Right it could never be truly functional.

    That is my non-academic view.

Unfortunately, I don't think so. In the past, the partisans in Congress managed to accomplish things through negotiation and compromise. Nowadays it's all hyper partisan vitriol. When one side fantasizes about murdering the other, it's difficult to work together on anything!

From what I've seen (I'm no expert), the uniparty is a label to describe when the partisans unite against the people. It's the same thing because when they "get things gone" it always is for their selfish interests and against the interests of the voters and the people in general. It's also often unconstitutional. The uniparty has been around for many decades although it looks different at times.

Gotcha. Our definition of Uniparty is different. I see it as when both Parties pretty much represent and pass the same thing, not a conspiracy against the American people. The danger of the Uniparty from my perspective is no real choice or opposing voice. We need opposing voices. The more debate the better the solution.

"The more debate the better the solution."

On May 22, 1856, the "world's greatest deliberative body" became a combat zone. In one of the most dramatic and deeply ominous moments in the Senate's entire history, a member of the House of Representatives entered the Senate Chamber and savagely beat a senator into unconsciousness.

So just maybe 'more debate' leads to less desirable outcomes.

Of course not. But this incident is just one part of proof that the 'Congress used to cooperate and be honorable' was always a steaming pile of excrement.

I agree with need for debate and different ideas. Historically, that's how we got more constructive effort and compromise.

I've never seen the term "uniparty" used for that normal process. I've only seen it as a negative think when politicians unite against the people.
