I worked for an Iranian owned Company, they were from Tehran and had to leave with the Shah. She also hired Iranian engineers that got out as the years went by. Used to have traffic school at 6 am to teach them traffic engineering. Great people. Stil keep in touch. One used to tell me the regime there IS NOT the Iranian people, they loved when the US was there.

Also had a Sergeant I worked for on active duty at Ft Hood, he was in Tehran in 78. Had to leave everything and evacuate. The people that took over were not good people. They deserve what they get.

Most of the suicide bombers have been people with nothing left to loose. They were usually poor, hopeless folks with no possible future.

I don't think the average Iranian soldier fits that category. I kinda doubt there are enough of them to mount an actual military campaign against a foreign group. Terrorist attacks... sure. Actual military assaults by hundreds or thousands of soldiers... I doubt it.

They would most likely commit suicide trying to stop an invasion force, which is why I will not support American troops on the ground... and why Trump is also opposed to it.

In 1980 the Iranian fertility rate was 7.0 kids per woman (more than sub-Saharan Africa today)

A endless supply of young men to throw into combat against Iraq. And a population on fire for Islamist ideology and a new regime.

Today the fertility rate of Iran is below replacement at 1.7 kids per woman.

Not only a stagnant & declining number of kids being born… but devastating to families to lose their only child or one of their two.

Also, a population no longer enthralled to an ideology that is now old, tired, and see as oppressive by most Iranians on the street.

They can't do wave attacks anymore and no Iranians are interested in volunteering for that kind of thing.
