First Kuwaiti I ever met was in Khartoum in 1992. I walked up to a group of Arab diplomats (some of whom I knew) so they would introduce me to the ones I didn't know. First new hand I shook introduced himself as 1st Secretary of Embassy of Kuwait. I introduced myself, of the "US Embassy". His eyes opened wide and he quickly stepped forward gave me a big, long bear hug. "Thank you for saving my country." The other Arabs all smiled. A couple clapped. Was a good day to be an American. One of the more memorable moments in my life.
