Babylon Bee is on a roll lol

I wouldn't want to be in the shipping business right now.

Looks like Iran is trying to make everyone feel their pain. Definitely can backfire if others decide to join. I suspect we may get a coalition to help protect the flow of oil.

Am I the only one who believes the death toll is significantly higher than 6? (Or 8)

In basing this on all our assets in the region that has been hit. ( Bahrain/Qatar/Saudi)

Death toll? Yeah, we are talking 11 days. To put in perspective, this is data from Inherent Resolve (ISIS). It is really not apples to apples, but this is not Iraq or Afghanistan where you have troops on the ground. Not saying good or bad, just giving perspective.

I hope for zero deaths. I'm just saying I don't believe what we're being told.

I agree. Just showing a what a limited engagement looked like. Not a shot.

This post and story should be immediately retracted by ABC News for providing false information to intentionally alarm the American people.

They wrote this based on one email that was sent to local law enforcement in California about a single, unverified tip. The email even states the tip was based on *unverified* intelligence. Yet ABC News left out this critical fact in their story! WHY?

TO BE CLEAR: No such threat from Iran to our homeland exists, and it never did.

Fake news?

I didnt see it posted yet, but after Trump said the Strait was doing great, a Thai cargo ship tried crossing it, and was hit.

Trump is just so incredibly dumb. He says the Strait is open, he says higher oil prices is better for America, that the war is basically over, and basically just starting, that we didn't hit the elementary school but really he has no idea......

But his policy, let's get back to that. Sure, he might start an unwinnable war with Iran, but his policies that make for a great economy, tariff the whole world, low unemployment, a President of peace..... Yeah it's his policies people love about him. We can excuse the insane backwards rhetoric of a true dumbass during a war.

Doubtful it's fake. Iran has clearly spent some time figuring out how to sow chaos. But I doubt they are in a position to hit California tomorrow.

Thursday AM Update:

  • Shipping turmoil escalates as multiple vessels (at least six) struck overnight
  • Brent crude oil prices top $100 amid "the largest supply disruption in the history of the global oil market," the IEA reports.

  • Northern Israel hammered by Hezbollah, "largest wave" of missiles since war began
  • IDF says it struck key Iranian nuclear development site

-Oil and gas production halted
-Israel reduced to rubble
-Casualties mounting (probably far more than we know)

Update(1855ET): In a huge battlefield development and significant first and setback for US forces operating against Iran, a large American military aerial refueling tanker has gone down over Western Iraq, where it was operating in connection with Operation Epic Fury. CENTCOM says there's a rescue effort ongoing, amid likely casualties. In an official statement it said:
Quote:

U.S. Central Command is aware of the loss of a U.S. KC-135 refueling aircraft. The incident occurred in friendly airspace during Operation Epic Fury, and rescue efforts are ongoing. Two aircraft were involved in the incident. One of the aircraft went down in western Iraq, and the second landed safely.

But the statement also sought to emphasize: "This was not due to hostile fire or friendly fire." But Tehran is contradicting this:
Quote:

Iran claims responsibility for shooting down US refueling plane, says US refueling plane was downed with all crew killed in Western Iraq.

Typically three members operate KC-135, but there can sometimes be another navigators, or possibly up to six on board. This could be an event with serous casualties.

At least it was during a refueling activity over Iraq, so if they were able to bail out - they have a chance. I can only assume that the Jolly Green II Choppers with some badass Maroon Berets on board are/were headed that way. Godspeed to them all. Was stationed at RAF Alconbury with the 39th SOG - both Pararescue (Maroon Beret) and Combat Controllers (Scarlet Beret). They all go through the same training as USN SEALs and USA Green Berets and USMC Force Recon and Delta Force. Then they all are trained in a specialized talent. I did limited training with them - nicest troops that you would NEVER want to jack with. Also, most them are like 5'10" and 175 lbs, and come from all walk of life and upbringing.

Mid air refueling is never "safe" but they are so good at it that it seems that way a lot of the time.

Not just anyone makes it through Superman school. There were PJs at Pope. I also remember Northridge earthquake crazy SOBs (complement) from AZ went in collapsed buildings, Emergency Services brought them in. If they need to be found, they will find them.
