Curious what you think Rubio would do differently than Trump that would change the trajectory of current events. While some of it is certainly being a company man, he has pretty well toed the company line on international dealings since becoming Sec. of State.
As for 20 years ago, Rubio was still in the FL house and just starting to gain some national recognition. He would never have been in a position to run in 2008. Regardless, Obama rode a waive that would not have been stopped by anyone the rebublicans could have fielded. It was a good election to give McCain his "shot" in recognition of his long service, but McCain would have been a terrible president too.
