And that blood on the floor was because of lack of adult? Or because the two kids wanted to fight? Or because the kid fought the adult?

I worked in schools and have seen first hand the kids that didn't stop no matter the adults present and had to be restrained and cuffed by officers after attacking an adult.

13 year 6-12 teacher. Yes, there were students who refused my directions, but I was always able to bring in another adult, and on a few occasions law enforcement, and nobody got hurt. Adults have the ability to resolve a situation two boys on testosterone don't have. That doesn't mean Metcalf bears any responsibility for what happened because he doesn't.

I coached soccer, baseball, basketball, and track and field. I get it has changed since I left, but an adult under that tent and this doesn't happen.

I continue to be shocked at the hate, vitriol, and disinformation being allowed to spread on social media and just the hatefulness of some of these people and the lack of ability to think critically. It is genuinely terrifying for the future of the country. Instead of parents having conversations with their kids about right and wrong and violence their injecting them with an 8-ball of more victimhood, excuses and justifications for chimpin.

Doubt he was "born" with a victim mentality, but I sure believe he was indoctrinated to think that way since probably before kindergarten. He was probably also brainwashed to believe white people are evil, white people hate him because he's black and white people are the ultimate reason for any and every bad thing that happens to him in life.

A great trick the authoritarians pulled was convincing so many that facts and reality are T'RACIST ... I know for sure if the races were reversed no white people would be making up stuff on social media to slander the victim (and be allowed to get away with it).

Agreed. The amount of times I have seen the video reposted of the black woman outside the courthouse saying "I have 5 boys, what am I supposed to tell them?" And people making comments about how she is "right" but missing the real point is she should tell them not to stab people or take a knife to a school event.

Or the repeated lies of the jury being all white when it is reported to have had Asians, Hispanics and one account I saw said it had a middle eastern person on it (another said Pakistani or Indian).

Has there been any official or verified news source that breaks down the racial make up of the jury?

I know they has been about no blacks being on it and trying to claim it was all white and it was shown to have Hispanics, whites and Asians on it but I have seen a report it also had a middle eastern woman on it described as a "woman of color"

All three. A lot of fights start because an adult isn't around. A lot of fights start because the two kids were just going to fight regardless. I've also seen a student stand up, walk across the room, and hit the teacher. I took a few punches breaking up some fights over the years. I only think one of those students actually hit me on purpose. The rest were already fighting and when you physically intervene to break up the fight, you need to know you might take at least one punch. They cover it all in the class you take. We both worked in public schools. We know how it can be.

In thirteen years, I took one pocket knife off a student in my classroom (without incident), one pocket knife from a student in the cafeteria (without incident), and was involved in the team that took a gun off a student in the hallway (without incident, but it did involve a handcuffing).

I get it. Kids do stupid things, but I still think if an adult had been in that tent, this probably would not have happened.

The problem is that wont happen. As you can see with this Karmelo stuff almost every black person older or younger is excusing what he did. There's just no accountabilty and people want to place blame everrywhere but on the actual people who are causing the problem.

My 13 year old knows not to provoke someone and stab them in the heart. It's just human decency.

Let's not make excuses for behavior that a 17-year-old should have known better than to engage in.

I've not made any excuses. I think the jury got it right in verdictand sentence. There are three things that must occur in self defense. I could see an argument that two did. I could not see how force was met with proportional force.
