While I give the Piggy Admin credit for border security as that was by far the best thing he has done. Now, this ICE chit shooting people dead in our streets (one was the wrong guy). These people had work permits and were the type of immigrants we want and need.(legally). So, we just shoot them dead in the street. One was killed by an "agent" shooting indescrimanately into the windshield of the car which is not protocol in any circumstances except for imminent death threat. The HAS to STOP. Oh, no, Piggy doubled down and cranked it back up. Anyone think this is ok? Biden didn't have anything to do with it.

With deportation, the issue is not that immigration laws are enforced. The issue is the inhumane manner in which people are being deported. A nation has the right to enforce its laws, but it also has the responsibility to uphold the dignity of every human being. How we treat the most vulnerable says as much about our character as the laws we choose to enforce. Justice and compassion are not opposing values; they belong together.

There was exactly 1 fatal shooting by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents during the entire eight years of the Obama administration.
While there were multiple in-custody deaths during this period due to health and medical conditions in detention centers, there was only one documented case of a civilian being fatally shot by an ICE enforcement officer.

Congress almost passed immigration reform but didn't because Trump wanted the politics. There is always an orderly solution that Trump dismisses.

It's more than trigger happy for me. The fact that ICE is routinely stopping minorities without cause and terrorizing them is unacceptable. And even more, it's ineffective.

Bull-hit. That bill would have codified the Biden practice of flooding the country with illegals. The other part was an Ukraine funding bill.

Don't bring weak ass -hit here.

So, is the immigration problem solved? It's not. It's just added chaos onto our streets. It still has to be addressed. Why? Because we do expect orderly. (Funny thing, 2A folks argue we all need guns for this exact situation)

"Show your papers, minorities" doesn't work for most of us. It's why ICE is unpopular.

** sigh **

SO much wrong in that post. OK, by point then:

"So, is the immigration problem solved? It's not."

So right from the start, you introduced the room to the retrospective determinism fallacy. The immigration problem is more than a half-century old, and some Congresses and Presidents have actually made things worse in scope and character. The actions by ICE and the DHS are overdue and for the most part restrained.

" It's just added chaos onto our streets. It still has to be addressed. Why? Because we do expect orderly."

That's the DNC spin and not winning over most anyone else. Frankly, the Democrats never seemed to grasp the growing public anger about illegals in gangs and the drug flow they brought - the 'Maryland Man' issue worked against the Democrats, and may still be hurting them as we approach the midterms.

" "Show your papers, minorities" doesn't work for most of us. It's why ICE is unpopular."

The Democrats never seem to tire of false Nazi analogies. It's old, stale, and only hard-boiled haters still buy it. The fact is that while most Americans are unhappy with the tragic deaths, they understand why these incidents are not happening with many Americans, including immigrant communities.

So Democrats are left with malicious stories and selective cop hate, and ultimately show no concern for legal immigrants and citizens hurt, even killed, by illegals.

Such a strange hill to die on.

There is nothing measured or restrained about the current approach. The administration openly admits that isn't their intention. That's how you end up with a situation where a 6 man tactical team is used to round up a non violent non felon Uber Driver that overstayed a visa. We killed an American citizen in the process. These are military tactics used for domestic enforcement and intentional intimidation.

I noticed you still ignore the problem of non-cooperation, often interference, from certain local and county officials (Democrats, of course), working to prevent LEO coordination.

Why do you hide that part?

Almost as dishonest as the lie that this is not about the illegals,

It doesn't happen if they're not pursuing Chuma doing their job and just act like Democrats.

Corrected.

And apparently you are a fan of local LEO ignoring the illegals problem.
You would defend anything this administration does so the facts of the situation are of no concern to you. Again, we sent a tactical team to pursue a non violent non felon who had already been detained and released during the first Trump admin and was in visa review status. Not MS-13, not Tren de Aragua, not murderers, not traffickers, but a damn Uber/Lyft driver.

Sort of like the early morning raids on the grandparents that wonder through the capital on Jan 6th.
Maybe you forgot all the times I argued about how Jan 6 wasn't an insurrection. Some of us, unlike OB, apply principles to all parties, not excuse them because the other guy did it.

The current situation regarding enforcement of deportation laws is frankly unprecedented. All those comparisons between how ICE acted under Obama and now ignore the fact that under Obama local and state officials did not stand in the way, did not oppose, the enforcement of law. ICE agents were able to act in cooperation with other agencies, something the Left has actively opposed in the current term.

All these hypocrites who go after ICE now like to pretend they are using principles, even as they ignore the different conditions, the active hostility - Good and Pritti would be alive today if they were not militant antagonists of the federal agents, and the very selective media spin all matter in this day and place.

Those self-righteous critics must sure be limber, to pat their backs so much even as they throw dung at agents doing a stressful and dangerous job that voters demanded.

This isn't hypocrisy because there is simply no comparison.

The job became significantly more dangerous because of how this administration chose to conduct it. Under Obama, ICE worked quietly through local jail pipelines to target individuals with violent criminal records. This administration chose to deploy masked, tactical units into civilian neighborhoods using unmarked cars and decoy stickers without regard for whether the target was a violent felon or simply illegal. And they didn't seek cooperation, they just did it.

Dropping a mass net into dense urban neighborhoods for street-level sweeps creates chaos and dramatically raises the danger for agents, targets, and bystanders alike. That operational choice is what is unprecedented.

How many fatal shootings by ICE occurred during Obama's presidency?

Can you answer that? Is this another Repub talking point? I mean, specifically this. I know the general Repub strategy is to turn every single conversation away from Trump and towards evil Obama/Biden.

Do you ever ponder what the radical left was not calling to abolish ICE and interfering with its operations during Obama? Do you ever ponder if maybe it's not really about ICE and political histrionics?

A core difference between the left and right is principles versus partisanship ... Republicans were not making ICE a disinformation propaganda topic when Obama was in the office because it agrees with then principle.

You do not know?

I feel like this made sense to you but maybe help the rest of us ... is there a point? Replied to wrong post?

You forgot the question you asked?

Quote:

How many fatal shootings by ICE occurred during Obama's presidency?

If you get confused, click the plus button and you can be reminded of what you forgot.

Can you share your answer?

How many fatal shootings by ICE occurred during Obama's presidency?

Apologies if I missed your answer.

Curious how you interpret the relative outrage or lack thereof ... what do you think that reveals about those supposedly outraged by ICE shootings?

I do not know. Do you know? This is the 3rd time I ask. A little ridiculous.

More than under Trump.

Why do you think there was zero outrage then but sudden outrage in 2026?

Do you find that odd? What does it say about folks who only are outraged depending on who is in the White House?

(Hint: the people butthurt by ICE selectively are tribal zealots).

The hypocrisy of tribal politics is something i have been pointing out for decades.

So you don't know, but know it was more back then? Seems a little hasty to conclude that y is greater than x, when you have no idea what y is.

Exactly, there is no comparison - but not for the reasons you think.

Trump cannot work quietly through local jail pipelines because the left blocked officers, district attorneys, and even judges from cooperating with ICE officers.

ICE had to wear masks because the left hunts them down and threatens both the officers and their families.

Civilian neighborhoods? Are these the same neighborhoods that Biden was purposely flying and transporting illegals into? Seems like a good way to catch a whole lot of the illegals in one sweep.

The operational choice is unprecedented, but so was a president disregarding his constitutional duty to enforce immigration law and flooding the county with millions of unvetted illegals.
Your ideas are intriguing to me, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

I think there is partial truth here. I don't agree that it had to be done this way, but it's true that mass deportation would always have been messy when left up to the executive, with its limited tools designed for enforcement, not mass deportations or correcting decades old issues.

Congress could fix the issue, but Congress never would. It created the issue through inaction. It is too easy to blame Biden for illegal immigration, but it was a massive issue way before his 4 years. Congress is ultimately to blame.

Honestly, sometimes you make some decent points and sometimes you seem completely illiterate. I was not making a comparison or saying y is greater than x. There was literally no protesting or interfering with ICE until President Trump was in office. There as not really any objections when Obama and Democrat presidents were doing the same thing - that is sort of the point. The people butthurt about ICE in 2026 seem to only care depending who is in office. That is the reason you never saw Republicans complain when Obama enforced illegal immigration because they have principles and agreed with it not making emotional hysterics out of everything. If President Trump cured cancer the Democrats would be marching in favor of cancer and claiming the cure disproportionately hurt bleks and Mexicans.

I see Hypocrisy has entered the chat.

Correct. Not sure why this is complicated. Once the radical left started opposing democracy and the law of the land with so-called "sanctuary cities," then it was going to be more difficult. Oh and of course having LWMJs actively interfere with law enforcement will cause problems directly and indirectly because it emboldens illegal aliens to resist. The few folks shot by ICE all brought it upon themselves.

If one opposes ICE because people attacking ICE officers were killed then one must oppose gun control because of what happened to the Branch Davidians.

According to another poster, ICE killed 1 civilian in Obama's 8 years, which is more than during Trump's ongoing term.

You are probably being intentionally unclear and dishonest, using the made up term "ICE deaths" which could easily refer to people who die slipping on ice, but most would understand it to either mean illegals killed by ICE, or Americans killed by ICE.

Try to be honest. I know it is hard for a tribal zealot like you. You can do it.

I see Hypocrisy has entered the chat.

ICE helicoptered into the south side of Chicago and took over an apartment building placing citizen children onto zip ties until they confirmed their status.

This is why people are anti ICE. It's the tactics not the mission.

Whatever tactics are deemed appropriate, if you're a law abiding legal citizen you've got nothing to worry about, now do you?

While I give the Piggy Admin credit for border security as that was by far the best thing he has done. Now, this ICE chit shooting people dead in our streets (one was the wrong guy). These people had work permits and were the type of immigrants we want and need.(legally). So, we just shoot them dead in the street. One was killed by an "agent" shooting indescrimanately into the windshield of the car which is not protocol in any circumstances except for imminent death threat. The HAS to STOP. Oh, no, Piggy doubled down and cranked it back up. Anyone think this is ok? Biden didn't have anything to do with it.

I agree. Trump deserves much criticism, but there are extremely examples of TDS that seem like true mental illness. Following federal agents around with whistles is peak _current_year_ PC stupidity.

That's only true if the government never abuses its power or exceeds its authority, and I don't think you could find a single American who would claim that to be true.

I think law abiding citizens being vigilant is the only reason the government doesn't abuse its power more. If these people were peacefully protesting and not interfering, I would applaud them. They think that real abuses of power are happening.

Of course most are peaceful and don't interfere. They hold a sign on the sidewalk for 2 hours on a Saturday and wave at passing cars. True American stuff. Just a few that are trying to block vehicles, interfere, and generally be terrorist like.

Some of you Trumpians are missing the point. Disobeying a traffic law does not constitute anything remotely close to the untrained, Jack Booted Thugs willfully gunning down people in our streets . Maybe , one of those thugs should turn the gun on Piggy and Stephen Miller.

Come on man, it's ok to hate on Trump, there is plenty of disdain for Trump in my own household, this bull**** isn't ok.
