He didn't care one bit about the virus, but only to advance himself. What a sick liberal Democrat.

IMO the biggest mistake Trump made in his first term as POTUS was delegating major authority and power to Fauci when the Covid hysteria came to be in 2020.

You are: (a) an idiot; (b) evil; ofr (c) both.

Those are simple notes taken over the course of the pandemic that relate dailyu activities. Many execs do this so that they have a clear record of what transpired. The fact that celbrities are included in the notes is a reflection of what happened, not his obsession with fame.

You follow the Trump/Bannon playbook-mislabel the headline in a deciving way knowing that one in a thousand is going to actually read the real information. Then "Fauci cared only about celebrity" becomes an accepted fact in your cult despite being nowhere near the truth. It is intellectually dishonest at best.

Huh, people on here seem to forget that. Trump appointed him and trotted him out night after night. Yet, they talk about it like someone else did it. They also fail to mention they disbanded the Pandemic team Obama had put together.

To be fair, as a prelude to how it was going to be throughout the Covid fiasco, Trump was being fed bad information and wildly exaggerated numbers (like forecasting 2 million COVID related deaths in the USA alone) - plus hindsight is 20/20. That said, bottom line, still a big mistake giving somebody like Fauci that much power and authority.

What will be sad is watching Hamas Harry and the other Fauici worshippers spin or ignore.

I don't believe that.

I do believe that if you added up all the negative externalities from our absurd reaction to covid, including the personal costs to so many people of shutting down society, isolating vulnerable children in bad households, isolating the elderly, the vast educational ramifications, the insanity of printing that much money and flooding an economy with monopoly money while you're stamping down production, the small private businesses that were killed, etc, it's entirely possible that we caused more harm than we mitigated.

One person in a panic is pretty stupid. A huge group of people in a panic is frighteningly stupid.

We agree on the overreaction. I live in FL and was lucky that DeSantis pushed back.

The Trillions and shutting down the economy was ridiculous. My daughter was in Boston and they were ridiculous.

I know for a fact that there were issues with COVID and the elderly. Once they figured out how to treat it, it got better. The initial treatments were not helpful, such as respirators. The vaccine helped a lot of people not end up in a hospital bed.

People forget that we didn't know what it was at the time and even those that suspected a weapon or escaped virus were preparing for worse. Hindsight is 20/20. Trump was in the same boat and Fauci is all he had, I get it.

This is how I felt in real time when the insane over reaction to Covid was happening, and how I feel even moreso in hindsight. Far more short and long term damage was done than anything that was mitigated or helped with what was stupidly done in reacting to what was at most the equivalent of a bad flu outbreak.

Trumps ignorance (Not Faucci) is what made COVID worse. He keeps thinking he can BS his way out of situations he creates. (No he didn't create COVID) but he keeps destroying the safeguards we take for granted.

He did it with COVID. He did the same with the JCPOA, NAFTA, Tariffs, DOGE. Now he's going after voting.

We are being Atlantic Citied by this ignoramus.

A few things that we can all agree on:

1) Fauci was affiliated in some way with Wuhan

2) he relished being front and center

3) he doubled his income during the crisis

4) he pushed a vaccine and embellished how effective they are/were

THAT IS PRETTY DAMNING

He also denied the effectiveness of a drug that had been used for decades, and claimed it was only for horses. Not only that, but he allowed others to destroy doctors who used these effective treatments, and did nothing when they lost their medical licenses... because he couldn't make a dime off of Ivermectin or Vitamin D. This is also why he tried to push his worthless AIDs medication which gave him millions in royalties.

Fauci is the evil ******* who leveraged the panic for his own gain at the cost of thousands of lives.

So it's normal for most people to include hundreds of instances of hero worship in their diary?

Wow.

What's really damning is his statements in early 2020 that clearly indicate he believed the virus didn't come from the wuhan market but instead the Wuhan lab, only to spend the next six years discrediting that theory.
