'Why Did You Cheat on Your Wife?' Ken Paxton Hit With Brutal Town Hall Question

https://www.mediaite.com/media/news/why-did-you-cheat-on-your-wife-ken-paxton-hit-with-brutal-town-hall-question/

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) was confronted with a blunt question about his personal life during a Monday town hall when a caller asked him directly, "Why did you cheat on your wife?"

Paxton, who is running against Texas state Rep. James Talarico (D) for U.S. Senate, has seen his campaign dogged by a series of scandals, despite securing President Donald Trump's endorsement over longtime Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX). The Texas attorney general has faced scrutiny over allegations of voter fraud and his office's plea deal with child sex predator Adam Hoffman.

Not to mention, Paxton's marriage has provided its own source of political turmoil. His wife, Texas state Sen. Angela Paxton (R), filed for divorce last year "on biblical grounds," with court filings citing adultery. The divorce proceedings, which threatened to air potentially damaging details in open court, were later pulled from the trial docket as the couple worked toward a settlement. More recently, Paxton has faced scrutiny over photos of him traveling in Europe with Christian influencer Tracy Duhon, amid reports that the two have been romantically involved since 2024.

In the Monday town hall, footage from one Instagram user shows a caller remarking, "Nice to meet you," before asking, "I'm just wondering why did you cheat on your wife?"
Paxton responded:
Quote:

Um, I'm not gonna talk about personal issues that relate to my family, just like I don't think you would wanna discuss your marriage on a call with thousands of people. All I can tell you is that I'm proud of my kids. I've got four wonderful kids. I've got seven grandchildren well, six and one on the way. There's a lot at stake, and so while I care about this country, I'm not gonna talk about things that would affect them, so thank you very much for your question.

Texans do not have anyone with fine Christian morals to vote for in the senate race without writing in someone with said character - which only works if millions do the same thing. I don't see a super pac forming to organize and promote that.

I'm gonna bet you $1 dollar. For me to win, two conditions must be true.

The bet is

1. You don't know one person who's had their genitals removed

2. You know at least two people who have either been sexually assaulted as a child or have gotten away with sexual assault because they were rich, powerful or connected.

Then they will sit. What I'm seeing is people are saying enough to Ken Paxton types.

I keep looking at Mamdani and asking myself, "Why do we continue to allow the Eric Adams types to hold jobs and do nothing for the people?"

In Texas, republicans have held statewide office for at least 30 years. How does it make sense that they are running to fix all that's wrong in Texas from the libs?

For decades (basically the whole post-WWII era) liberals endlessly mocked their fellow Americans for caring about candidates having Christian values.

Looks like many Americans finally decided to listen to the liberals and stop caring about that....

I think it will be bad for the country when Ken loses, but I am not going to shed a tear over it. Guy's a royal POS.

It was a terrible nomination. The silver lining is it will likely end his political career at a national level.

The downside is we will have an effeminate, vegetable-eating social justice warrior as our Senator. God help us.

I find it hard to believe that in the entire state of Texas, population 31.7 million, the GOP couldn't find a single Texan to run who would have been more articulate, less corrupt, with fewer skeletons in his closet than Paxton.

Which raises the question of whether they actually wanted to.

What in the world are you freaks Talking about mutilating children. No clue what you are referring, but a candidate who's about to beat a Republican so any of that is utter non sense. Why do you find it hard to believe? Texans don't participate in voting. Especially no presidential elections.

In this case, we took out a powerful senator for a corrupt politician based on the word of a corrupt president. I wish Cornyn had maned up early on and used his power instead of getting punked by Trump.

Regardless, these Takarici rallies are energetic and packed. I can't wait to see what he does after Labor Day.

Like always....you are putting far to much blame on Trump

Texans had disliked Cornyn for a long long time.

And Cornyn has to be blamed for being a powerful Senator for 24 years! And yet he failed to win a actual voter base in Texas (most Texans could not stand him or were lukewarm about him)....he focused his whole career on building a rich donor base instead.

"A highly energized faction of the party rejected Cornyn's institutional Senate credentials, viewing him as part of the Washington establishment rather than an insurgent fighter... Cornyn represented an older establishment, Bush-style conservative approach focused on institutional power. Cornyn's involvement in negotiating and passing the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (gun control legislation) along with various amnesty proposals in the end alienated the conservative base, with critics labeling it as a betrayal of his voters."

In the end Cornyn only has himself to blame....he spend decades "using his power" to help the donor class and suck up to corporate interests and progressives in DC. Instead of caring about his voters and building up his power there among the rank and file of the party in Texas.

Now that is a good point

Its a very very sad thing that the State of Texas came down to a choice between these four candidates for Senator.

GOP:
John Cornyn- (a political liar and a endless betrayer of his voters along with a criminal inside trader in Congress for 20+ years who enriched himself)
Ken Paxton- (not enough space here to run through his personal negatives and moral red flags)

Dems:
James Talarico- (a guy who comes off like a deeply closeted California progressive wearing Texas heritage as a skin suit, he belongs on the modern Baylor faculty meshing woke ideals and Christianity together....not in the Senate)
Jasmine Crockett- (a straight up racist with zero credentials to be a U.S .Senator. Quick to anger, slow on all other mental aspects, she would be an embarrassment on the Dallas City council much less in the most powerful Senate on Earth)

I mean it is insane and sad that this is what it came down to in the end for the State of Texas....30+ million people...and these are the 4 goobers that the voters had to pick from.
