Or maybe he means American citizens who are part of our culture, including first or second generation immigrants who have assimilated. They are just as much Americans as those of us whose ancestors came in the 17th or 18th centuries or were already here to greet them. In other words, people with an American heritage.

So you are saying that a bunch of kids going crazy at an SEC football game doesn't want to assimilate? What do they need ot do to assimilate? How do they qualify as assimilated?

If this is considered "assimilating" what do you consider "not assimilating"?

You are upset that they are building churches and doing business with local farmers?

No assimilating is not working, trying to change the structure of the government, committing crimes, etc.

You ask a good question, though. Does remaining a Hindu prevent an Indian from assimilating? Does living in a neighborhood with other Indians mean that an Indian has not assimilated? Does speaking English with an accent mean an Indian has not assimilated?

This monstrosity should be used as target practice by the artillery corps

If it is height that bothers you, I guess we blow up a bunch of crosses too,

If you love India so much why dont you move there?

I feel the same w/ historian and Israel.

You guys seem to love foreigners and foreign countries more than Americans and America but refuse to leave.

The whole point of America is to love ideals, not groups. I love America because people can immigrate here. You love America as long as it is white.

American is NOT just an ideal....its a physically place...a country and a homeland for its citizens

That country does have various ideals. And some are in fact very universal...and some that are particular to Americans. And the country is itself quite open and welcoming of new comers in general.

But people like Sir Roger Scruton have long explained that a country is a tangible living community bound by a specific landscape/homeland, shared language, customs, and inherited institutions, history, and values.

So its more than just "ideals". And it would be as strange to love America for only ethno reasons as it is for you to love it only because people can immigrate to it.

"Blood & Soil" vs "Ideals uber Alles"....these are both strange and seem very fanatical.

I keep asking the question and none of the racists can answer it. What "language, cusotms, and institutions" are the Asians and Indians hurting?

They may in fact not be hurting any...

I get the strong feeling you are not upset about the debate specifics themselves....you seem angry the debate is happening at all.

That anyone in the West daring to have a problem with mass migration seems to trigger you on a deep level. (Especially if its White people who have a problem with it.)

You view migration through a moral lens.....

mass migration does hurt communities and institutions though. It displaces citizens who'd normally fill these roles, it lowers wages, it impacts housing costs, and it burdens government institutions.

There is a place for controlled and limited immigration - Indians absolutely have a place in our work force and can be great people to work with. But it should not come at the expense of the citizenry.

You must have flunked economics. Bringing in productive people creates more opportunity; it doesn't displace anyone.

So you are making the case for slave labor as well.

I didn't flunk economics, I know it quite well. Better than you.

You want to pretend that bringing in millions of people has zero negative impact on the citizenry. You're wrong. The vast majority of "productive" immigrants coming here on work visas aren't anything special. They take advantage of the system, and the absolutely lower the wages for citizens. There's zero chance you've actually hired anywhere near technology. You'll believe whatever the TV tells you.

Even before my post, it's been the topic at almost every dinner or party. If you're from here and anything less than the upper class, you have a deep resentment for the companies and politicians ushering in foreigners at the expense of your home. We've watched some of the most liberal progressive people we know pull their kids out of public schools because they're the only Americans left in their class. I don't know how these people will vote, but they are facing the reality of their progressivism.

A lot of these people are uncomfortable having the discussion in public given it touches a raw part regarding race. I get the sensitivity and there is a sense in which that's right. But if our politicians want the support of the people of Texas, they're going to have to recognize that however silent, there is a significant majority that feel disenfranchise, betrayed and a level of despair watching their home be transferred to newcomers.

These are not hateful, mean or racist people. They simply want to give their kids an upbringing that resembles the one they had. They want their kids to go to schools with other English speaking Americans, meet kids at the park they can be friends with and they don't want their kids to be minorities. This is normal and good.

If Bo's post was over the line for you then you've lost touch with every voter and are in for a rude awakening.

Well slave labor was productive. But it was a human travesty and a mortal sin. So you can't really compare the two without being disingenious.

Of course immigration has an impact, nobody is pretending any different. Your understanding of the impact is just flat out wrong.

Simple question

https://www.fox7austin.com/news/bo-french-faces-backlash-over-posts-criticizing-ut-students.amp

Remember, it's only about merit. From that picture, I cannot tell you where any of those folks were born.

Just trying to figure out how low some of the riff raff on here will go. If given a choice between an open racist who tried to take advantage of the widow of a dead hero and a centrist Democrat, the "R" next to the candidate still wins out.

Racist? Wow, that's original.

You're a scum bag loser. UT and all public state schools should absolutely represent TEXAS. They are our universities. This giving preference to non-Texans is bs, whether it's Californians or Indians.

You're broken in the head. You lap up whatever the globalists will throw your way. You'll gladly lessen your children's and grand-children's futures all because the TV tells you to. You sell out all the great things that those who came before you built, and you do it because the TV tells you to. You're an idiot.

And there is no such thing as a centrist democrat anymore. They are all rushing to sell America out to foreign interests and to make America a poorer country.

Scumbag is thy name. Scumbaggery is thy creed.

First, Texas law regulates the number of out-of-state and international students who attend UT and eATMe. It is a low number as the vast majority of seats are reserved for in-state. And you are wrong-I wouldn't mind it if the law was 100% in state. There would be just as many Asians and Indians.

And by the way, both my daughters have their medical degrees from UT schools that they had no problem getting into. Their futures look pretty sweet. Because I taught them to work hard, study, and compete. You want it given to you.

I don't want it given to me scum bag. I just don't want it taken from Texans. And fwiw, I wouldn't want my kids go to UT even if they had a free ride. Too many rapists and sexual predators at UT.

dude, uncle Tinny..you are a piece of work. Watch out for the boogeyman...he's coming for you. You are a homophobe and a racist. UT does not want ur snot nosed kids. they can't get into McCombs. The Trans , white straight (no black, no dogs, no Irish) boogey man coming for ya! Run and hide!

Naturally the Dems jump at any opportunity to accuse Republicans of racism. It's a broken record for them. It's not racist to notice something is different or that immigration is flawed with far too many people coming from cultures alien to ours with people who don't assimilate.

Granted, the photo shows a group of Texas students who appear to have assimilated into the culture of UT. I'm not sure that's a good thing and it's certainly not an indication that they gave assimilated into American culture in general (or even Texan culture). Austin & UT do not represent Texas or America.

Ah, the truth comes out.

If you argue against UT spots going to actual foreigners who are not going to stay in America, fine, I probably agree with you. State resources should not go to something that will not benefit the state.

But most of you are arguing that Americans should not be at UT because of their ethnicity, regardless of their intellectual merit.

God is ashamed of you. Your argument is racist and sickening. Period, end of story.

Seems like we could save a lot of back and forth if we all just agreed that there is a group here who hates/thinks everyone who isn't a white male should not have any position or influence in America and another group that thinks that position is absurd/untenable and not supported by either history nor current reality.

These groups are not going to sway the other. Seems like I just saved us all a lot of time.

Edit: and to be clear, Bo French still sucks and you shouldn't vote for him (regardless of you position on his observations of Indian men at the UT game)

America had racial quotas on immigration until the Hart Cellar act and somehow we still managed to become the most powerful country on Earth... imagine that...

The other group also seems to have a strong animus to White people in general and seems to really celebrate the success of demographic changes taking place all over the West

There are bad actors and haters on both sides of the debate.

Some don't want anyone but White people around. And some it seems want anyone around but White people.

It might not be. Properly vetted immigrants with similar values will probably do just fine like the poles and Irish of older times

But as Bill Maher just reminded us of this week. We really have to make sure we seriously vet who we let join our nation

It's pretty obvious actually... remove the immigration quotas, flood the country with 3rd worlders, and watch the 3rd worlders vote to bring in more 3rd worlders and create anti-white laws demonizing the native white population. Change the population demographics, culture, and traditions of the nation and demoralize heritage Americans into oblivion.

No one is trying to do that. We're experiencing demographic change as a result of low birth rates and the demands of the market (and, to some extent, US policies that create chaos in our neighboring countries to the south).

So why do we need so many Indians? they arent to our south. I understand people coming here from hispanic countries but we dont need Indians coming here to work cheaper that our own people especially since AI will be doing all of the coding with in a very short time.

If you're talking about H-1B visas, that's more of a labor issue than an immigration issue. H-1B workers depend on employer sponsorship, which gives them less leverage.

I think the oppressive policies created the low birth rates... native white birthrates were great before Hart Cellar

I'm not sure what the connection would be there. Griswold and Roe have always been the obvious culprits IMO.

But we still have immigration quotas. And the fertility decline has been across the board, not only among whites.

There is no group here that believes that moron.

To type that out unironically in a thread debating the merits of the racism of a candidate for public office (and with multiple posters supporting, even doubling down on the position taken) is in interesting sort of congnative dissonance, but I admire your willingness to stick to a narrative.

You do you.

I dont even need to go pre-civil war to debunk this.

America had racial quotas on immigration until the Hart Cellar act and somehow we still managed to become the most powerful country on Earth... imagine that...

Excellent rebuttal to an argument I did not attempt to make. The strawman you built is thoroughly thrashed. Congratulations.

Yeah we all don't like liberal shytholes like Colorado buddy

You really do just pipe in an say "things", dont you?

If, as can be assumed by the topic of this thread, that you are implying that greater number of white / non-immigrants = less ****holes (just spell the word correctly and let it be censored, its really ok), then you must also believe that Texas is a larger ****hole than Colorado, since there is a materially larger proportion of the CO population that is white vs. Texas.

And fwiw, I couldn't really give a rip what is going on in CO, despite your inability to read the various other posts I have made saying I dont live there and never plan to move there. My entire professional career has been around, in or supporting the oil industry in Texas and the US generally and I have lived in texas for nearly 20 years. I would wager my average day is more "Texas" than most anyone who isnt a rancher/cowboy or a rig hand.

And none of this changes the fact that Bo French sucks and should not be a TRRC commissioner, regardless of his feelings about people with more melanin than him.

The "most Texas" man in this thread AND he supports unlimited h1-b Indians invading America and taking all the upper middle class jobs AND he support building hyperscale data centers on top of people's homes...

I heard enough! Make 303Bear the next Governor of Texas and book him a private jet straight to the WEF conference in Davos!... We can talk about creating anti-semitism laws that violate the first amendment once you touchdown!
