Do we need a DEI program at the University of Texas to ensure more whites are getting accepted?

No…we need to get away from DEI style racial discrimination

And have actual neutral standards based meritocracy for the USA to survive long term. In admissions, Jobs's, and everywhere else

If in a fair admissions system at UT-Austin if certain groups become over represented (say Asians) then so be it.

But if we are going to continue down the path of DEI (and Baylor and most other universities seem determined to continue this toxic idea). Then yes….Whites would have to organize and start seeing themselves as a group and demanding DEI style policies to help/protect themselves from discrimination

The classic "showing up to a gunfight w/ a knife" scenario.

No one else is going to play by these rules but Americans are expected to.

Life never has been nor ever will be a meritocracy but gullible fools love these fantasy, utopian ideas.

Then you are for race-based or ethnically-based quotas?

I'm for deportations.

Universities are becoming increasingly brown, and it appears white males want less and less to do with college.

This is a scary trend as college grads ultimately become the future CEOs and politicians, so we're going to lose our country if white male enrollment keeps dropping.

You believe CEOs have to be white men?

Very few people become CEOs. Owning a Plumbing company with 14 employees can be rewarding. Sometimes that looks way more fulfilling than middle management at IBM.

I believe Americans should run American companies. I also believe Americans should govern over Americans.

You have to be a US citizen to hold office. So what is your concern over the second prong there?

You guys throw the term "American" around very loosely. Clearly we're not talking about American citizens, rather the American PEOPLE

Heritage Americans.

You mean white Americans?

No, plenty of Heritage Americans.are black, Hispanic, Native American, etc. It's about the culture not the ethnicity.

Can an Indian be a heritage American, whatever that is? Can an Anglo whose family goes back generations not be a heritage American? Just confused about the test, because apparently hard-working, smart, family oriented students who love football fail the test.

They will prove that right after they prove massive vote fraud, the failure of the Covid vaccine, tax cuts that reduce the deficit, the absence of man-made climate change and the earth being flat.

If you argue against UT spots going to actual foreigners who are not going to stay in America, fine, I probably agree with you. State resources should not go to something that will not benefit the state.

But most of you are arguing that Americans should not be at UT because of their ethnicity, regardless of their intellectual merit.

God is ashamed of you. Your argument is racist and sickening. Period, end of story.

No...they are arguing that American citizenship should not be so easily sold that the demographics of entire States can't switch in a breathtaking short term. Not even a single lifetime.

PS

Westerners are the least racist people on earth....the most welcoming and the least ethno-nationalist

I mean you don't see Africans, East Asians, Israelis, Arabs, or Indians letting in millions of other peoples into their nations do you?

Blaming Texans or Americans for not wanting to be demographically replaced in a single lifetime...while not holding the rest of the world to this same standard is utter and horrible hypocrisy.

What a racist trope. First, you have no idea whether those specific kids are from India, Asia, or Lorena. Second, the more general idea that we are being swamped by Asians or Muslims has zero statistical support. While Asians are Texas's fastest-growing demographic, they comprise about 6% of the state's population, growing at an annual rate of 5-6% compared with an overall growth rate of about 1.5%. In other words, they constitute a small percentage of the population and will remain a minority. Third, America has always been about immigration. The same complaints you are making now were leveled against the Irish, the Italians, Eastern Europeans, and previous generations of Asians.

What really upsets you is not that they won't "assimilate," because they do assimilate. Going crazy at a college football game proves that point.

You and French are upset that so many of them are in the picture because they earned their way into a selective public school. If America is one thing, it is supposed to be a meritocracy.

Should we believe our lying eyes or whatever data you're going to throw at us. All you need to do is take a trip to Costco or HEB in Frisco or any mall in Collin or Denton county. I was at the Galleria over Christmas and hadnt been there in maybe 15 years. It was shocking how much I felt like a minority. It was liike I was literally in Mumbai.

Dont believe your lying eyes... believe our fake, made-up statistics instead!

This is the physics department.
