None of that is true. Immigration did not cause the loss of the Rust Belt; offshoring did. The unemployment rate after the pandemic ended has run from 3.5%-4.2%, historically low. Real wage growth has varied, but the problem has been inflation, not wages. So, is there some evidence for what you are talking about, or is it just whining/disguised fear of brown people?

My dad was a career Air Force officer whose second life was in Oil & Gas. He never voted for a Democrat that I know of. Mom voted for JFK. It was the first and largest fight of their 70-year marriage. She never voted for a Democrat after that. When I entered school they were offering signing bonuses bcs they needed Pharmacists, solid upper middle class jobs, by the time I graduated four years later they had filled all the vacancies w/ h1b's from India and you were lucky to find a contracting gig in another state (which requires retaking the tests).

That was almost 15 years ago... I cant imagine how much worse it is for kids today.

What I'm seeing is these UT kids are American. Sure, their parents may have been H1 but they are born in Texas. I know many of their parents.

My racist comment is I find in the interviewing process that Indians will look to their countrymen first in hiring where as I look to hire based upon fit.

That is why the birth-right citizenship case before SCOTUS was so hot and is a hot issue that will not go away.

In truth... that is not accurate.

The debate about it should be "this is a good thing because it makes X or Y better for all"

But we can't sit here and deny what is actually happening in front of peoples eyes....

Percentage of Texas school age kids who are White (those under 18) today in 2026 is like 28%-29%
The number of Texans who are White in general is like 38%-39%

In 1990 the White population of Texas was like 70%.

When my dad was a kid in the late 1950s the White population was 86% to 87%

That is a radically transformation and "replacement" of the population in a single lifetime.

If people want to make a good argument for why it should be taking place....fair enough.
