A September 2026 ProPublica investigation reported that Russian oligarch Umar Kremlevwho heads the International Boxing Association and has close ties to Putinspent hundreds of thousands of dollars on Donald Trump Jr.'s May Bahamas wedding. That included renting a private island for the reception and guests, plus a fireworks display, with payments routed through a Dubai entity linked to the IBA.
Major outlets like Forbes, CNN, and The Independent covered it. Trump Jr.'s side called Kremlev a personal friend and did not deny the payments, while his wife described the oligarch's part as a generous post-wedding gift from a friend.

Tolerate it? We have people here who revel in it.

Gee, it's almost as if the Trump family has suspiciously deep ties to Russia. If only someone had warned us about this when it could have mattered, maybe back in 2016...

Seriously, if this surprises you, what rock have you been living under for the last decade?

I thought we were told that a president's son getting money from Russia was not a big deal ... which is it?

Or maybe you guys don't really care about corruption.

To Danielsjack and Harrison

I'm over 80 years of age. I am a cradle Republican. You will never find me defending Biden or his family but that does not mean we should accept Trump's criminal tendencies.

I did not vote for him in any of his three elections nor did I vote for his opponent. I just voted down ballot. I was rather pleased when he won the first time until he fired Tillerson. I knew then Trump was irrational.

He is TV reality persona who knows how to appeal to emotions while spending us into eternal chaos and debt. As long as you do not have to sit on an Aircraft carrier for 300 days or carry a weapon in his stupid war in Iran I guess you can applaud his many stupid mistakes.

The most impressive part of this post is the poster's ability to forget an entire decade of making excuses for politically connected family members the moment the last name changes. The same poster who waved away Hunter Biden collecting lucrative payments from a Ukrainian energy company suddenly rediscovers his concern about foreign money when the last name is Trump.

Apparently foreign money flowing to a politician's family is either evidence of corruption or a meaningless coincidence depending entirely on whose campaign sign is in the yard.

What's especially rich is that this comes from people who spent years promoting the Trump-Russia collusion narrative as if it were an established fact, only to watch investigation after investigation fail to prove the grand conspiracy that was breathlessly promised.

Taking foreign money should be bad, regardless of whether you have a D or an R in front of your candidacy.

The same way Dems do. Repubs and Dems both tolerate corruption because they rely on the system to provide justice. If it's illegal and corrupt, then surely someone in an enforcement role would be holding corrupt politicians accountable right? If they're not held accountable, then it must not be illegal.

That's our group think, and we don't have many options because every politician gets richer than they should have based on their earnings alone - every single one of them somehow gets millions upon millions in a matter of years. We have a congresswoman who clearly married her brother - and also made millions upon millions - and then revised it once she got caught - all the while bashing America - and dems don't care about that one iota either.

The reality is that no matter who we vote for, they won't change it, because they all get rich. We can keep trying - but the players in this grift, all politicians, will just skirt the issue. The ones that don't play the game lose support of the party and the party money that helps them get re-elected.

I'm not saying give up as a voter, but the truth is, the system will just replace any politician if they don't play ball, so the cards are stacked against us. Just keep trying to vote for the best man in the primaries. Outside of that, you're stuck with the two and have to vote on best policy.

The investigations into Russia Russia Russia not only failed to provide evidence, they exonerated Trump. The same is true of every law fare attack on him except the fake and clearly unconstitutional trial in New York that produced convictions of fake crimes with no evidence, a corrupt judge and prosecutor, and a rigged jury.

You are correct, but not many people had the level of sympathy for Biden that MAGA has for Trump. In addition, the Trump grift is on a scale the Bidens could only dream of. Finally, at least Hunter Biden was prosecuted for something by the "Biden DOJ." What is the chance that happens under Trump?

Demonstrably untrue. The Bidens' pay for play was highly suppressed by multiple large media outlets and celebrities. There was even a major party that put him up for election knowing his mental capacity was diminished considerably. Even that was suppressed (poorly) by large news media, the White House staff, and celebrities. Posters on here regularly defended him. Even some who never post here until they can "gloat" about something they think their party succeeded in.

This is a political board, so there will always be zealots and an occasional bot touting totally tribal hooey. At least it's not as badly bot compromised as the big social media outlets. Props to the owners of the site for that. I actually wish a couple of posters here had the excuse of being a bot. (Not you)

Can you count backwards by sevens from 100?
How many public events is Trump a part of each week? Him not agreeing with you on issues is not a dementia problem. Trump posting useless memes is not a dementia problem. When has he not been a blowhard? You would have felt the same about Teddy Roosevelt. Crazy narcissist isn't dementia. If it was, we had better call a special election for a new Congress.

After observing the Clancy case, I wonder if any could be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt when the defendant has high-quality counsel. I think the 3 main areas of concern are pardon selling, lawsuit settlement in exchange for political action, and Eric, Don Jr., and Jared cutting sweetheart business deals with companies and countries who need something politically from the U.S. If the dems win either the house or the senate this fall, it is going to be non-stop investigation of Trump and family. Taking foreign money should be bad, regardless of whether you have a D or an R in front of your candidacy.

It's a basket of Apples and a truckload of Apples comparison.

This truly is a ridiculous statement. There are myriad high profile Republicans that oppose Trump.

As noted, the entire left-wing media colluded not only to promote fake stories about Trump but also to actively suppress the truth about the Bidens. My word we were told all the videos of Biden were "deep fakes."

That's a remarkable lack of self-awareness.

What is remarkable is that you are the one that saw "MAGA" and pronounced it "Republican." Pretty ironic given the content of your reply.

I will try and explain it to you, but I cannot understand it for you:

1. First, define "MAGA?" (we know you will not but that is the first step)

2. Second, you might sort of try and loosely describe MAGA as blind Trump supporters - so they're akin to Democrats.

You really live in this sort of fantasy world where every one of your accusations is a confession.

Was there a Democrat that spoke against Biden's corruption and incompetence?

Was there a Democrat that spoke against Biden using the government to weaponize against political opponents?

What there a Democrat that spoke out against Obama weaponizing the government against political opponents?

Again the difference is some Republican has spoken out against Trump. Not sure one Democrat has spoken out against the last two Democrat presidents.
