The precedent is your President. I'm glad to see that you're coming around to the idea that HE should be held accountable.

The cases did not "fall apart in court," as you claimed. When TRUMP was re-elected, Jack Smith dropped multiple court cases involving HIM. The facts never got to see the light of day. In Judge Cannon's court, Smith's report is sealed and gag orders issued.

As to Omar, I have no idea what judge signed off on the warrant. But that's what judges routinely do. The government presents the request with some background info. No judge -- or attorney, for that matter-- would claim that signing off on a warrant is remotely evidence of guilt.

The oddest thing about this case is that the warrant was executed three weeks before the election. Makes me think the TRUMP Administration is trying to affect the outcome with this and/or intimidate Omar. She is no threat to flee prosecution. TRUMP says HE had nothing to do with it.

I don't believe HIM. Do you?

I don't think Immigration issues and financial fraud are covered under "official acts" of any office. The handling of documents very well could be, but perhaps not always. Biden's document case could have helped clarify that, but his DOJ declined to proceed based on the mental state of the defendant.

The real problem I see is that there is a high likelihood that any case may take forever to reach a court no matter how much evidence there is. Too many times the process is the punishment, which is the point of state laws promising a "swift" trial by jury to protect against such. If there is anything there, it needs to proceed as swiftly as reasonably possible to protect the defendant and the tax payers and - in this case - the voters either way.

Whether taking classified documents or inciting a riot is an "official act" wasn't the point. A possible defense? Sure.

But the cases went away simply because TRUMP was re-elected. I believe that was the correct decision, though it frustrates me to no end.

So why shouldn't Omar be given the same opportunity?

I don't think Immigration issues and financial fraud are covered under "official acts" of any office. The handling of documents very well could be, but perhaps not always. Biden's document case could have helped clarify that, but his DOJ declined to proceed based on the mental state of the defendant.

Whether taking classified documents or inciting a riot is an "official act" wasn't the point. A possible defense? Sure.

But the cases went away simply because TRUMP was re-elected. I believe that was the correct decision, though it frustrates me to no end.

So why shouldn't Omar be given the same opportunity?


The Supreme Court review of Trump and Smith did have official act as an issue.

If she is guilty of crimes - and at a minimum there is enough evidence she is to get a democrat judge to sign off on one of her homes getting raided - she should be held fully accountable regardless of the outcome of her upcoming election. Period. I don't and shouldn't care about any alleged "precedent".

The precedent is your President. I'm glad to see that you're coming around to the idea that HE should be held accountable.

The cases did not "fall apart in court," as you claimed. When TRUMP was re-elected, Jack Smith dropped multiple court cases involving HIM. The facts never got to see the light of day. In Judge Cannon's court, Smith's report is sealed and gag orders issued.

As to Omar, I have no idea what judge signed off on the warrant. But that's what judges routinely do. The government presents the request with some background info. No judge -- or attorney, for that matter-- would claim that signing off on a warrant is remotely evidence of guilt.

The oddest thing about this case is that the warrant was executed three weeks before the election. Makes me think the TRUMP Administration is trying to affect the outcome with this and/or intimidate Omar. She is no threat to flee prosecution. TRUMP says HE had nothing to do with it.

With all the viscous, visceral, and unsubstantiated hatred you dumocrats have for Trump that to boot most of the MSM promotes and cheerleads for, if there was anything of substance that was found through the lawfare investigations targeted at Trump (especially including Jack Smith's investigations) it wouldn't have been dropped simply because the man was reelected. I'm sure that the fact that all of it was a political persecution based on manufactured charges had a little something to do with why everything was dropped.

I brought it up because it is used to delay justice by defense teams. I have doubts about how much a judge will push a defense team to fish or cut bait in a highly publicized case, even as a jury pool is being tainted. Unlike cases like those related to Abscam and various one off cases, Omar will be getting a lot of PR help from inside Congress and from various news outlets no matter the evidence. It's already started.
