Everyone should be praying for peace. Saw this online today, scary how right he was back then on both NK & Trade. I still don't trust NK and even if they agree on something big, implementing it will be the toughest part trying to change an entire country's politics.
Trump is egoistical and crazy insecure in that he needs people to like him all the time. But you can't deny that his business experience all across the world has been impressive over the past few decades. He's met w/ World leaders and politicians his entire life.

Can't believe there is not more conversation here about what is happening right now. Trump meeting with Kim 6 months after Little Rocket Man and Fire & Fury comments and only a few weeks after NK tries to provoke the US. Amazing. Can't imagine anything happens this quick but u never know.

I did turn to catch the end of it. Even clapper was impressed with him and said there was more depth to Rodman than most people think.

Very interesting meeting. Give the Trumps props for getting to this point and saying, screw the old way that hasn't worked. That's the reason I voted for him. Business guy, goes against the establishment (punk rock Trumps) and will shake it up. So, I try to call them as I see them. Also, Sec. Pompeo has his stuff together. Very impressed with him. Hope Trump will walk away and take the media heat rather than sign an unverifiable deal as our past presidents have done.
For the non-stop hate Trump gets being accused of being a hater, there is one opinion I've always had of him. When he wants to make a deal he doesn't care who you are, where you're from or what you look like. Knowing Trump, he'll be best buddies with Kim.
No doubt that alone accomplishes nothing. But as J.R. stated above, might as well try a new approach. He has kept fear and danger in the far east. If an agreement can reduce his threat and bring real food and jobs and freedom to North Koreans this will be a monumental victory.
Social media is a big risk to the hermit kingdom. Kim knows this. Better to make a deal where he is still in control and appears to be a hero to his people than to be overthrown by his own. If these thoughts are on his mind, we have a chance.

Dictators around the world should be leery of the beacon of hope for all who struggle to be free. I don't know about actual death, but real peace and economic prosperity will result in Un and his family losing personal power (which is figuratively the same thing as death for a dictator). Un knows this.
Beacon of hope......doesn't mean much to the mass of humankind trying to survive on a dollar a day or less.
Trump will ( hopefully ) look at the more realistic objectives....end to the Korean War, verified end to NK's nuclear program, opening trade on the China model ......allow Kim to stay in power .
