A good source of mine in the athletic department told me that Dary Stone called Ramsower all the time with instructions for Ian. Ramsower would pass them on to Ian telling him what to do. It's like we all suspected to be true. Hopefully some of this will finally come out if Ramsower is ever deposed.

Source also told me that Stone wanted to be the AD in the worst way. Thank God he wasn't.

Is Dary Stone also the one that pressured to have his no-talent kid awarded a football scholarship?

I thought you were going to reveal something new.

A number of us were privy to this information years ago. Others that supposedly received such daily instructions included Garland, Starr, Davis et al.

This sort of activity threatened accreditation since it is not proper for BOR members to give direct orders to administrative personnel. The board's duty is only to set policy, not to carry it out.

Since he had that much power, why didn't he call Briles at halftime of the Cotton Bowl and tell him to not take his foot off the gas so that we didn't have to live through one of the most embarassing comebacks in bowl history.

Yes, and when the athletic dept sold gameworn jerseys a few years ago, I inadvertently ended up with his 5'7" 150 lb size M Jersey.

Dary wanted to be the AD in the worst way when? In summer if 16 or some time before that?

I thought Dary was also in the reinstate Briles camp.

I love your posts, Arlington, but don't bash the offspring for the sins of the father. Okay for all of us to beat the crap out of each other, but family is off limits.

But not the most embarrassing in history. Ever seen one that was embarrassing for the team that won and the team that lost?

I hear you, but he belonged on a D1 football team about as much as the female kicker in Colorado did a few years back.

Can he kick the ball through the uprights? Sure, my brother had a kid in the 8th grade kick a 40 yard fg to win a game. I saw a guy from Gainesville drill a 55 yarder once against Celina. NEITHER sniffed a D1 opportunity and both were much better than that kid.

D1 is for elite talent. Not someone who can barely kick it 40 yards in optimal conditions. Wouldn't have started at a bunch of High Schools.

With the huge favor he got with the kid he should have been. Saw his little basketball self made film, he is a world class jock sniffer.

I swear in the Trib when reinstatement was an issue in June of 16 he was quoted as stating he hoped the BOR would reconsider its decision and not fire Briles. He could have been lying, I suppose, knowing he didn't have a vote anyway he could have been trying to position himself with the majority of Baylor folks. I don't know but I remembered talking to someone that morning that Trib story ran and we were both surprised that was his position. I remembered thinking there was hope Briles would be reinstated since Stone was for it.

Well we probably won't have to worry about losing a cotton bowl again

Since you've made an appearance over here, why not pay a little attention to the dumpster fire that is this board? I suggest that you either enforce your terms of service or abolish them.

Even though you have no formal affiliation with the university, this board reflects on Baylor because it is obviously identified with Baylor fans. You all create the impression that you don't care about that.

You really are comparing those teams and that bowl to the Cotton Bowl?

Ian was a poor puppet for the regents. Ribbon Clerk of the Year 12 years in a row.

I watched the game live on tv. It was a time filler on Christmas Day.
Great come back in the stadium near the airport.
It's my favorite bowl. Wanted Baylor to play in it after the mall fight because the season was over at that point and the crappy bowl in Orlando was a more expensive vacation.

The point is to be accurate.

His post was accurate: Stone pressured BU to award his kid a scholarship. He didn't claim the scholarship was granted. If you want to raise the accuracy of posts on this board more power to you. Plenty to keep you busy.

Briles inherited Dary's kid didn't he? He wasn't a true freshman in 09 was he? I could have sworn it was Morris's who felt pressure to sign him. Of course I thought Morriss was rewarded by being undermined.

Dary Stone was the special teams coach for that Tech game. Baylor would have had momentum and possibly won the game with a field goal kicker.
