According to Texas Monthly readers, overwhelmingly. According to reputable pollsters, not likely.

I'm a fan of O'Keefe and anyone trying to shed light on darkness and corruption. It's usually the dems and MSM (extension of that party) that want it to remain in the dark. If we want to talk about O'Rourke's issues with the law and lots of smoke, we can do that too.

So awkward. So very, very awkward when Beta boy's campaign manager is caught on film condoning breaking the law.

BTW I do so love it that some of you Leftists believe that Beta boy is going to win. It will make Ted's victory all the more sweeter to see your hopes and dreams crushed along with it.

If he wins, it will not be because Beto is good candidate (although he is).

It will be because Ted Cruz is such an unpopular one.

Media and leftists dislike Cruz, he is right on issues and man of integrity, and since Texas is still red state with great voting citizens, and Francis Oreo is liberal crazy guy, Cruz wins, even after $70 million plus spent in Robert Francis Oreo.

Current polls are Cruz by 3 to 10 points so I will say no, Beto won't win. But who knows for sure. He does skateboard.

The Dems actually want Beto to lose. If he wins he's stuck in the senate for six years. If he makes a good showing and loses, he's available to be a front runner to run for President in two years.

The party desperately needs a young guy with a pulse to be the new standard bearer. Beto envisions his ownself to be a new Kennedy.

Does anybody but me think he looks like he's on meth the way he jumps around?

There is something to this. I was not going to vote for Cruz, then Kavanaugh happened.

I think there are a lot of historically Republican-voting people in Texas are repelled by Cruz.

Turn out, turn out, turn out

From NYTimes
Texas Senate race turns on turnout
One of the hottest topics as we enter the final weekend before the midterms is the state of the Senate race in Texas:
Does Senator Ted Cruz really enjoy a comfortable lead over Representative Beto O'Rourke?
Or are the polls not accounting for a surge in turnout, especially among millennials and first-time voters?
Internal Republican polling indicates that Mr. Cruz is ahead by about 8 or 9 points, depending on the survey. Those polls, according to G.O.P. officials, are assuming a turnout of just over six million voters.
Senator Ted Cruz campaigned in Pampa, Tex., on Thursday as a new poll showed a tightening race between him and Mr. O'Rourke.
Public polls and Democratic surveys have showed a tighter race a Quinnipiac poll taken last week showed Mr. Cruz leading by 5 points and many Democrats believe that Mr. O'Rourke can narrow the gap.

What may determine the ultimate margin is, yes, turnout. Will the total number of voters be closer to the 2016 election or the last midterms? If it's a big number, the thinking goes, it's a boost for Mr. O'Rourke.

A lot of people period are repelled by Cruz. He's mean and self-serving and unlikeable. He stabs people in the back.

What, if any, major legislation has he sponsored? What has he really done for the people of Texas? (These are genuine questions, as it appears to me his primary purpose in the Senate was to prepare himself for a presidential run, and I don't think he's a viable presidential candidate--he's too much of a smarta$$ jerk.)

He reminds me of Richard Nixon, only slimier. But people elected Nixon president, so Cruz may indeed get another 6 years in the Senate.

Kavanaugh, Kavanaugh, Kavanaugh
That issue works both ways.

Women I've talked to were shocked at the disrespect Kavanaugh leveled at the women in the Senate Judiciary committee during his historic temper tantrum. Some believe he outright lied under oath, not about the sexual assault (which I don't believe he remembers, but which I also believe he may have committed when he was too drunk to really know what he was doing--and it's very apparent that he drank to excess, a lot, in high school and college), but about his drinking. He deflected other questions. It was a great grandstanding performance for the people who love Trump's rants and grandstanding performances. For a lot of women, including Heidi Heidtkamp, who may lose her race because of her vote against him, it was a defining moment about how men can treat women everywhere, including in the political sphere, and get away with it.

Since Trump has turned Kavanaugh into an issue to ignite his base, these women aren't going to talk about it, But more of them are likely to show up at the polls and vote.

I believe that the presence of Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court undermines the integrity of that institution. And Trump's belittling of Blasey Ford, whose testimony was painful and credible--and, whatever you believe--motivated by a sincere desire to serve as a character witness for a man she believed should not have a seat on the highest court in the land--doesn't look very good either.

Trump may have galvanized his base with kavanaugh. But I believe he also lost some people who will quietly vote for the party that isn't going to put bigots and chauvinists and people with hard-line political agendas on federal courts.
