So Hitler was a good nationalist as he conducted the Rhom Purge and Kristallnacht, whipped up a frenzy by claiming immigrants were causing a huuge burden and to blame national problems? Thoughts praising this type of nationalism is much scarier to me that some big tittied woman talking about greening up America.
That's obviously not what she meant. Owens is not a fascist or an advocate of fascist policies. AOC identifies as a socialist and just released a serious legislative proposal that reads like a dystopian sci-fi novel. You sure Candace is the scary one?
Yes. AOC' proposal is not serious. It is wildly extreme. It's a first attempt at negotiating what she thinks needs to be done. I haven't studied her beyond admiring her dance moves but I am sure she realizes not all the buildings in America will be rebuilt featuring green tech. Maybe she thinks if you ask a lot and get a little it's better than asking for a little and getting nothing. I am against almost everything she says but it's not scary. Isn't this similar to the grand ideas Pres T had starting with a 30+ foot wall from the Pacific to the gulf?

On the other hand saying someone is ok with a nationalist Hitler wanting to make Germany great does scare me. Hitler did horrible things in Germany before he turn global. He committed crimes and used his patriotism as an excuse. He made immigrants scapegoats for national problems and convinced the natives to condone his jack booted thugs crimes. I know a Christian America would never fall for this but its still scary to say it was ok.

.
No. I don't think a wall from the Pacific to the Gulf is remotely like the Green New Deal. It's not even in the same universe of things.
Imo a 30 foot (at times it was going to be taller ) for 2000 miles payed for by Mexico is extreme. That's not the wall P. Trump is pitching now. AOC's ideas are also extreme.
If the Presidential election came down to AOC and Trump, which is not possible, who are you voting for between the two?

The libertarian candidate
Trump is the closest to being a libertarian in 2020. I fully expect you to vote for him.
Trump is like a libertarian that doesn't care about shrinking the size, scope, and spending of the federal government. Totally new breed of libertarian, I suppose.
In comparison to Democrats and their $50 trillion dollar spending proposals and tax moves to scare off investment...you bet your ass he's closer to being a libertarian.
I'm closer to being an NBA player than my 5 year old nephew. I'm way taller than him and have a better jump shot. Something tells me being closer doesn't mean a ****ing thing in this instance.
If your nephew and you were candidates for the NBA, you would dominate in comparison and give the league massively better results.

That is not unlike describing the 2020 election my friend.

Your comparison absolutely applies here.
No. Me being able to dominate my nephew is completely irrelevant. Any NBA team forced to play either one of us would be ****ed.

Trump isn't a libertarian...at all. That's ok. He's never pretended to be. If you want to vote for him as some type of lesser of two evils choice, that's fine by me...that's your prerogative. But I don't think you'll win very many libertarians over by saying Trump is more libertarian than [insert candidate here]...both are so far away from libertarian that the the difference is negligible.

If it's irrelevant then why bring it up?

My point is between the lesser of two evils Trump is closer to being libertarian in the political spectrum in comparison to Democrats.

And technically he has shrunken the size of government by rolling back regulations and war.

Libertarians need to understand that there is no fight for them in a R vs. D country. R's and D's will make sure of that because they have rigged the system a long time ago. Your best option is to reshape the Republican party towards libertarian values.

Trump has talked about rolling back wars. That's a good sign, but I'll celebrate when we cross the finish line. We're still fighting all the wars he inherited and while I appreciate his rhetorical tone on that particular piece of foreign policy, it's time to fully pull the plug. I will be the first to give him credit when that happens.

But no, Trump hasn't shrunk the size of government in any meaningful way. Hell, he doesn't really even talk about it. It's just not a priority for him. Trump doesn't think big government is a bad thing, he thinks big government run by the democrats is a bad thing. Big government run by him? Well, that's just fine.

But there will be more than two candidates. I will vote for the libertarian candidate, which will not be Trump or AOC. Instead of picking the lesser of two evils I will vote for the candidate that I feel best represents my views.

I used to just pick Republican because they were the closest. When Repubs nominated McCain I realized I could not vote for him. I sure couldnt vote Dem so I went Libertarian. Romney didnt get my vote either. I liked his business experience but being a Mormon was a negative. So I voted libertarian again.

It was easy the third time.

I used to vote the lesser of two evils. I changed.

You people are such f***ing morons. You are suggesting her response that was purely about nationalism (which I don't completely agree with) was somehow a justification of extermination of jews because she didn't unpack the entire thing in a one minute clip? You and BBL have got to be the stupidest sons of b1t(#3s on this board, with the exception of 47, quash and cinque.

Hitler was a socialist. His socialism was nationalist. His brand of national socialism also had a racial component because nationalism in Europe was and is nearly always racial. She didn't do a good job speaking like the micro-machine guy in her one minute clip to discuss the differences between US nationalism (which is patriotism) and national socialism.
Nationalism in and of itself just means a love for one's country and a desire for that country to be the strongest and best it can be. In and of itself it has absolutely nothing to do with Nazism, Communism, Totalitarianism, or for that matter Democracy and/or limited government. It's just what it is - a passionate love of country.

Some historic nationalists have been very evil people (Hitler, Stalin and Mussolini are examples). Other historic nationalists have been good people (Lincoln, Ghandi and Reagan are examples). It depends hugely on who the nationalist is and what their intentions are.

Maybe she could've said it a bit better, but all Candace Owens was saying was that IF Hitler had merely been a nationalist who loved his country and wanted his country to be the best it could be, there wouldn't have a been a problem and she's completely correct in stating that. We of course all know (including Candace Owens) that Hitler was one of the world's worst and most evil tyrants which is an entirely separate issue and she in no shape, form or fashion condoned that or sought to minimize it which is clear if you listen to or read her comments with any kind of an objective mind.

Bottom line, this is simply another example of the Trump haters on the left trying to impose their bigoted, biased feelings that conservatives are inherently evil, while twisting a conservative's comments to mean something that they absolutely don't mean.

The leader of Communism and also the leader of the Soviet Union in Hitler's day, Joseph Stalin, was actually an Anti-Semite as well. It was for different reasons (Stalin wasn't into the "Aryan" race thing) and he wasn't as upfront and open about it, but Stalin mis-trusted and hated the jews as well, believing them to be conniving profiteers that were dis-loyal to the state. Your main point is accurate in that Hitler and the Nazis passionately hated the Communists because they were a rival and threatening party that also happened to be on the left as well and not because the Nazis were on the far right and the Communists were on the far left as is popularly mis-taught.
