Hannity's "This is the end for the Deep State" rants remind me much of the mainstream news media and our own cingue's "This is the end for Donald Trump" claims. They are both getting very, very tiring. Big yawn. Nothing gonna happen. The status quo is very much intact.

I really think new AG William Barr does not have any balls just like his predecessor. I am not surprised. Have really not heard much from him.

I have no way of knowing what was discussed on the tarmac, but I do know the third paragraph to be true.
You believe it to be true. You don't know it. That's a different thing altogether.
The irony in this post is truly unbelievable.

Saw Lindsey Graham explain this who is about to investigate the FISA debacle.

I would like one of our resident liberals to explain this was not a set up. Please try spin this somehow.

1. Bruce Ohr told the head of the investigation (McCabe & Others) you CAN NOT rely on this dossier because the author has a political agenda and hates Trump

2. With that knowledge they still asked for a warrant 4 different occasions on Carter Page and later admitted WITHOUT THE DOSSIER WE NEVER WOULD HAVE GOT THE WARRANT.

3. So After Trump wins - Comey gives Trump a copy of the Dossier and says I want you to know this is out there, we can't verify any of it though.

4. SO - Comey & McCabe signed off on the FISA warrant and told the court the Dossier was reliable when they knew it wasn't.

Mr. Comey - Mr. McCabe - you have the right to remain silent. That's called an 'insurance policy' and Mueller NEVER should have happened.
1) The part highlighted in bold literally never happened, that is a Fox News fever-dream at best. Ohr told the FBI that Steele was biased (against Russian spies and organized crime, but y'all never seem to acknowledge the connection between those entities and Trump that a career Russian espionage expert named Chris Steele saw...), not that his reports were couldn't be relied on.

2) McCabe testified that they wouldn't have known to look closer without the dossier, at no point has anyone except Nunes said that the Dossier was the sole basis for any warrants. Hell the declassified portion of the Carter Page FISA app made that abundantly clear, even though Nunes continues to lie about it to people he is certain don't know any better.

4) Is also a flat out lie. They told the court the Dossier was partisan oppo research, not FBI work-product, and there were literal pages of redacted sections that contained information obtained independently of the Dossier. Why do y'all continue to ignore that the re-applications require a showing of productivity to be granted? In other words, they uncovered enough evidence pertinent to the investigation for multiple judges (not Comey or McCabe or Yates) to grant 3 extensions! Not to mention Page's previous documented contacts with Russian spies! crazy coincidence I'm sure that multiple people who had pre-existing relationships with Russian asset-handlers ended up working for a campaign that took an inordinate amount of meetings with Russians during the election season.

For the 1000th time, the Trump campaign's leadership met in Trump Tower with Russian spies after being briefed by the FBI that Russians were interested in infiltrating the campaign. Not investigating further would have been stupidity of the highest order. Frankly, defending the Trump campaign's contacts with Russia is also very stupid, but there seems to be no shortage of Trump-supporters willing to step up to that plate.
1. Ohr told the FBI that Steele was desperate for Trump not to be elected. He didn't say Steele couldn't be relied on, but he did say the FBI would have to make that determination with Steele's possible bias in mind. The FBI lied when they told FISC they were unaware of any derogatory information about Steele.

2. There are only two disputed issues with regard to the Nunes memo. One is whether the dossier was an "essential" part of the application. We don't know the answer because much of the application is still classified, but it's clear that it was an important part. The other issue is whether McCabe told the committee they wouldn't have sought the warrant without it. We don't know this, either, because his testimony is also classified. Everything else in the Nunes memo is accurate. I lean toward trusting Nunes over McCabe on the disputed issues since he's the only one of the two who hasn't lied under oath recently.

4. The court was never told that the dossier was opposition research. The FBI said they "speculated" that Steele had been hired to find dirt on Trump. This was another lie, as there was absolutely no speculation involved. They knew exactly why he was hired and who hired him.

As for the Trump tower meeting, it took place in early June 2016. Trump wasn't briefed on the Russian threat until August 2016, more than two months later.
FusionGPS/Perkins Coie purchased the fake dossier used by the FBI for illegal warrants.

Don't forget that the Trump tower meeting was set up by FusionGPS. The Russian who met with Don Jr. met with Glenn Simpson of FusionGPS before and after the meeting. She was also given a special visa by Lynch.

Doesn't that sound like entrapment? Or purposely creating the appearance of collusion?

Part in bold is a lie. For gods sake we have seen the email chain in which Don Jr and Rob Goldstone (representing Aras Agalarov) set up the meeting, where the Trump campaign was promised the support of the Russian government and Don Jr replied "I love it". It is some seriously Orwellian BS to try and pretend like those emails don't exist and just ignore them. Is it your contention that Aras Agalarov was in on this entrapment scheme and working for Hillary too, going all the way back to his partnership with Trump on the 2013 Miss Universe pageant in Moscow?

And don't forget, as if that meeting wasn't suspicious enough by itself, it was only one of many clandestine contacts between Russian spies and Trump campaign officials in 2016.

You are so FAR behind on this whole ordeal.

The founder of Fusion GPS actually met with Russian operative Natalia Veselnitskaya immediately prior to her visit to Trump Tower and immediately after.

Fusion GPS was conducting a political operation against Trump using Veselnitskaya.

Quote:

(Via Fox News) [] The June 2016 Trump Tower meeting involving Donald Trump Jr. and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya occurred during a critical period. At that time, Fox News has learned that bank records show Fusion GPS was paid by a law firm for work on behalf of a Kremlin-linked oligarch while paying a former British spy Christopher Steele to dig up dirt on Trump through his Russian contacts.

But hours before the Trump Tower meeting on June 9, 2016, Fusion co-founder and ex-Wall Street Journal reporter Glenn Simpson was with Veselnitskaya in a Manhattan federal courtroom, a confidential source told Fox News. Court records reviewed by Fox News, email correspondence and published reports corroborate the pair's presence together. The source told Fox News they also were together after the Trump Tower meeting. (read more)

I'm not behind, I know what your preferred narrative is, I just reject it as wishful thinking. The Russian lawyer was in town representing a Russian entity in court. I don't know what she discussed with Fusion GPS when she met Glenn Simpson, but it's clear from the email chain that she wasn't involved in any setup preparations with Don Jr. That's generally how spycraft works, spies have day jobs that act as their diplomatic cover and lets them move around more freely. In fact, Don Jr had to reschedule the meeting for 4pm because the Russian lawyer was in court until 3pm.

And you are still purposefully ignoring the email chain that set up the meeting. It wasn't just emails either, the message chain refers to a (as yet off the record) phone call between Don Jr and Emin Agalarov where they allegedly discussed what info was going to be offered. And then after all this Don Jr, and more importantly his dad, lied to the American public about the meeting's purpose when they got caught. For your theory to fit, Aras Agalarov and his son Emin would have to be working for the Dems somehow, and something about how 2016 went down tells me that ain't what happenned...

Not a lie:

https://www.realclearinvestigations.com/articles/2018/08/13/trump_tower_meeting_looks_increasingly_like_a_setup.html

You are so FAR behind on this whole ordeal.

And you're ignoring that the meeting was about adoptions and no dirt was exchanged.

Don't you find that strange?

I refuse to believe you're that dumb. That's the lie Don Jr gave (at daddy's direction, we now know) before he knew the NYTimes had the actual emails. Trump Sr even let slip that he talked "adoptions" with Putin (i.e. coordinated their lies) at the meeting Trump was flying home from at the time the emails were published.

And how are you certain it's a lie?

Because Don Jr changed his story after the NYTimes let him know they had the emails, emails btw that do not refer to adoptions in any remote way. First it was about "adoptions", then it changed to being about the Russians bringing some info about Dem donors allegedly dodging taxes in Russia somehow. Never mind that one of the Russian participants in the meeting has allegations of hacking campaigns in his past, and the first email dumps came weeks after the meeting.

"Adoptions" is the code word they use for removing sanctions related to the Magnitsky act, to which the Russians retaliated by ending adoption services for Americans. "Adoptions" is most likely the Russian ask in exchange for whatever they were offering the Trump campaign at that meeting, if the subject truly came up at all.

Incidentally since you're taking people at their word these days, do you believe Bill Clinton when he says he met Loretta Lynch privately on a plane to talk about their grandkids?

I've seen nothing to dispute what the weight of evidence shows: you worship a fascist traitor who is in open warfare with his own FBI for having the gall to investigate him. Manafort (whose case I notice Horowitz did not go anywhere near, I wonder why that is) is still in prison, and none of your dreams about Trump being set up have been supported at all. Meanwhile, Russian state TV is openly calling Trump and Giuliani their assets and joking about Trump fleeing to Russia as Yanukovytch did before him, all while Giuliani takes Russian money to produce Russian friendly propaganda (i.e. the kind suckers like you love to lap up).

An FBI agent (Clinesmith) took an email from the CIA that says 'Carter page is a CIA agent and busts Russians' and edited to say 'he's not CIA!'.

Then they used that email for predication!

You don't think that's a big deal?

To be clear, Carter Page is not and has never been a "CIA agent", he was a contact that spoke to the CIA once. And this was before he got caught being chummy with Russian spies in 2014, not after. Something y'all also try to avoid mentioning is that Page was in Moscow after he "left" the Trump campaign just like Steele said he was, and he didn't meet with the guy Steele said he did but he did meet that guy's top aid (i.e. he communicated with the guy that Steele said he did). That's the same Steele, btw, who had provided actionable intel to US LE agencies previously, which is why despite all their attempts Republicans couldn't get Horowitz to say that the Page FISA warrant was either defective or invalid.

What about the warrants targeting Manafort, why aren't y'all up in arms about that case? Could it be that investigating that would uncover things that aren't beneficial to Trump and can't be spinned as easily as the distractions about some nobody like Carter Page?

Caught being chummy?

Mueller established ZERO collusion or Russian efforts on anyone's part.

The only people making those assertions are fishnet wearing tankies.

You're right, "caught being chummy" was way too charitable.

He was caught willfully cooperating with Russian spies by giving them the documents they requested and asking them for lucrative O&G contracts, and then when the FBI scooped him up he talked. I know y'all don't care, but I'd love to know what someone who had already been involved with Russian spies and then joined the Trump campaign was actually up to in Moscow after he "left" the campaign (even though he testified to Congress that he kept campaign officials apprised of his Russian contacts and was still communicating with them from Moscow), and I bet the FBI had that same curiosity hence the FISA warrant.

Page also did not deny to Congress or Mueller that he talked to senior Russian gov officials while in Moscow (including Igor Sechin's top aide, Steele's dossier said Page had communicated with Sechin and evidently it was through this aide), about sanctions relief and a brokerage transaction involving Rosneft (the 19% stake-sale as alleged by Steele). So to recap, Steele was right about Page in Moscow, and Steele was also right that Page was meeting with senior Rosneft officials and discussing sanctions relief while he was there, and Steele was also right about Page being involved somehow in the Rosneft stake-sale. That corroborating evidence is why Steele's tips to LEOs were kept in the warrants.

Without sanctions and prosecutions nothing will change. This is a slap on the wrist. With a feather.

I agree.

I hope Durham brings forth charges.
We need to get rid of FISA courts. The patriot act is a joke.

If I defrauded a court...I go to jail. If an FBI agent defrauds a court...they get a vacation.
