Again, note that this guy you despise so much still beat the Democrat. Maybe instead of looking for reasons to insult the Republican, you should come up with better candidates on your side.
My problem with Patrick is not only that he is unbalanced and a perfect example of far far right wing politics. My problem is he will help turn this state purple and then I will really be pissed.

I thought being gay was a resume builder for a democrat?? Why is everyone so upset with Dan Patrick, for paying a compliment to Beto? Are we now saying that being gay is bad? Make up your mind.

I've wondered the same about the "Muslim" word

Why do democrats deny and defend obama from being the obvious Muslim he is(Michelle always walked behind him!) if there's nothing wrong with Muslims as democrats tell us there is?

And why do they have issues calling someone "gay," if there's nothing wrong with it in their eyes

As you say, "democrats, make up your minds!!!"

Did Dan Patrick stop maturing emotionally in fifth grade?

Calling a political opponent "light in the loafers" and a "moron" is, well, worthy of the political dialog on this forum. Which is why it resonated with the usual Trump-pets.

I don't think O'Rourke's candidacy will go anywhere. So Patrick has wasted a lot of perfectly good vitriol he could heap on other Democratic politicians for the benefit of the evangelical amen chorus. Although it appears he's a jerk with a bottomless supply of nastiness to screw to the likes of Laura Ingraham and her receptive audience.
Again, note that this guy you despise so much still beat the Democrat. Maybe instead of looking for reasons to insult the Republican, you should come up with better candidates on your side.

There are none

Democrats are inherently weak unattractive individuals

Democrats are needy people and needy people aren't leaders! That's why they hate Trump because he only helps people willing to work and help themselves!

But that would require actually having sound ideas.

They have no other options than to play victim, call others racist or spew hatred.

Exactly

Democrats are like a large rudderless vessel lost in middle of large ocean

They're hollow with no ideas how to get themselves anywhere

All they have is attacks and questions here if you notice? They have NO SOLUTIONS!!!

Patrick is a piece of slime.

Beto is a low IQ fool and washout who married a rich girl. His speeches are useless word salads and he is trying to play off being a Bobby Kennedy type.

He is tanking politically and going no where.

Patrick, OTOH, is waaaaay above that.

According to the Houston Chronicle.

Quote:

AUSTIN "He is so light in the loafers he floats off the ground at times."

Those were the words Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick used on Fox News on Monday night to describe Beto O'Rourke, suggesting that the Democrat running for president is gay.

Patrick made the comments while criticizing O'Rourke's immigration policy on "The Ingraham Angle." He also called O'Rourke "a moron" and "unbelievable."

I use to think Rick Perry was out biggest idiot but this guy is something else.
I was watching when he said that and he made sure to clarify when asked that it had nothing to do w/ how this is being spun. Nice try though liberal media - as usual.

He was mocking him for his moronic statements - his words.

Talk about spin. "Light in the loafers" is a well-known euphemism for being gay. There are well-known euphemisms for being dumb ("not the sharpest knife in the drawer" etc.). Patrick either meant to imply Beto was gay and is now backtracking or meant to imply Beto was dumb, yet was stupid enough to mangle his own insult.

You have 3 choices: Patrick is a homophobe. Patrick is dumb. Patrick is both.

Or, he was simply incorrect in his use of an expression.

Obama mispronounced "corpsman" by sounding out the "p" and "s". He also said "57 states". Was he either dumb or anti-American, or both?

(The argument against Obama is much stronger, though. How in the world does anyone mess up the number of states??)

It is the explanation, not the mistake, that leads to the alternatives. When Obama's referenced mistakes were pointed out he did not try to justify them with some ridiculous explanation.

But Hillary's emails..,

OMG you are still in the twilight zone episode where real people still give a **** about Hillary's emails.

All those people are shouting "lock her up" because why?
If you are still hearing people shout 'lock her up', I'd suggest one of your female neighbors was doing something importune to local statutes.
That was funny. 100% incorrect, but still funny. Account of last Saturday's rally:

President Donald Trump went on a 90-minute extended rant during his rally in Wisconsin on Saturday night, programmed against the White House Correspondents Dinner that he refused to attend. During his unhinged monologue, the president said many ridiculous things that will sap your will to continue living in this nightmare dystopia, including: accusing mothers and doctors of executing newborns, calling the media "sick" and ex-FBI officials "scum," claiming credit for the "sick" idea of sending undocumented immigrants to sanctuary cities, and doing an impression of the Saudi king's accent. Oh, and, of course, there were "Lock her up!" chants.

Trump is accelerating the turning of Texas purple. Biden carries the state against Trump if the election was two days ago according to a poll released two days ago. But yes the idiots in the state capitol are helping the invevitable along quite well also.

13:00 minute mark. Are the people recording the rally "obviously biased?"

OldBear says no one shouts lock her up anymore. I respond with proof positive. But you guys know better. Being an old white guy trumps facts and logic I guess.

You didn't answer my question and called me an "old white guy"

You lose!
He proved it happened. You lose.

Reading comprehension an issue for ya, law dog?

Read my question and answer it
What did booray claim was incorrect as said by Trump? The whole point was that oldbear thinks "lock her up" is ancient history. booray proved it happened recently. That is not saying that anything Trump said was incorrect, but that oldbear is incorrect.

What's creepy is you go looking for stuff like that.

If you don't go looking for it, there's nothing there to worry about.

I got over Bill Clinton by 1994, guess it's taking Trump haters a while longer to let go of the insane rage.

If you mean I look for facts to support my argument, yes I do. Maybe just once you will try it.

Bit ironic that you think the guy posting something that happened 5 days ago is living in the past. As opposed to your friends chanting about something that happened 5 years ago.

No, evidence is not creepy, but hunting until you find something that is not representative of the public opinion and pretend it is, just so you can press a lie, smacks of virtual stalking.

Now, back to the OP. Is Dan Patrick a conservative? Couldn't get support for his sales tax plan, now he wants to raise a tax that shouldn't exist: oil and gas severance tax.

But go buy yourself a participation trophy, looks like you need one again.

And yeah, facts matter. Too bad you depend so much on emotion instead.

As to the OP, Patrick is a career politician, which in my book makes him dishonest and someone who does not work for a living, but it's still salient that he won over what the Democrats put up against him. Interesting that quash has not a thing to say about the Democrats' quality of candidates since, say, 1998.

Dan Patrick is someone who got elected to statewide office, pushed his agenda through the legislature, and has achieved most of the things he has wanted to achieve in office. I can totally understand if you disagree with him (i myself disagree with him), but to claim he is a complete idiot is a bit of a stretch. He has been successful during very turbulent times, and has been able to manage the Texas legislature - no small feat.

Meanwhile Beto is a total loser who has made it into politics due to family connections with corrupt politicians. Beto has been arrested twice, and both were quashed thanks to daddy, who was the county judge. He also has quite a few years as a punk rocker in a horribly bad band. He was a malicious hacker, who wrote guides so others could hack into computers and screw up computers. During his hacker years, he wrote some horrible fiction about killing sprees, including children.

Yeah... Beto is a loser and an idiot. His policy recommendations don't even stand up to a 2 minute google search. But hey... why not run for president?? LOL

Patrick had to change the rules and traditions of the Texas Senate to accomplish part of his agenda. The changes in the rules and tradition will make it easier for Democrats to undo his agenda.
