How are Omar's comments (for which she apologized) racist, but Trump's are NOT?

So what did you think about Rep. Tlaib's statement that she gets a "calming feeling" when she thinks about the Holocaust?

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/rashida-tlaib-holocaust-calming-feeling-house-gop
Here's the full quote.

Quote:

"There's always kind of a calming feeling I tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors Palestinians who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people's passports," Tlaib said just after the 28 minute mark. "And just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. And I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways. But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them."
She called it a tragedy and said she was glad it was her people who paid the price -but correctly pointed out they still paid the price. Which surely no one would dispute.
You do know she was lying about Palestinians and Muslims 'providing a safe haven for Jews", right?

Just like you do know the full tweet from President Trump specifies families and origin, not ever claiming the women were immigrants themselves?

Or are you just repeating lies because you like to do it?
1. It doesn't matter if she was right or wrong. The quote isn't racist. It doesn't say she was happy about the holocaust -as JXL inferred.

2. secondly, no, the President literally stated the four women, making it very clear who he was talking about, and told them to go back to their countries.

3. even if he was referring to their families [which he wasn't] that doesnt' make it less racist. He is still saying racist ****, you're just arguing that he was saying it to their families and not them?

The President is beginning to back-pedal from this. Especially after the "send her back" comments from his supporters at the rally last night. He's claiming he "didn't like it" and that he "shut it down quickly." He didn't. He listened for 13 seconds and only spoke after it had burned out on its own.

There is video evidence.

But let's just say Tlaib's comments WERE racist, just for the sake of argument. How are HER comments racist, but Trump's weren't?
1. Jews are considered a race. Anti-semitism is a form of racism. Most adults already know this.

2. Nope, go back to what he actually said and what you claim is not there. Repeating a lie does not make it true. Again, most adults already know this.

3. Now you're just spewing. I don't suppose it has occurred to you, that calling Trump 'racist' every time you get mad at him does not make him look bad, it just makes you look mentally ill.

With all that said, keep it up. You're not helping your cause at all with this delusional malice, but you will drive moderates and independents to vote for Trump and a GOP Congress, so thanks for that.

Lol. I'm taking it verbatim from his tweets. He clearly identified the 4 progressive women, then told them to go back to the crime-ridden countries they came from.

It's there in black-and-white.

How is what Omar said racist, but Trump's comments weren't?

Do you really think screeching racism at every turn is a winning strategy for your political agenda?

It's not.

Trump's re-election strategy is simple: pick a few good things to highlight improvements like the tax cuts, the economy, a lower unemployment rate, Gorsuch/Kavanaugh...then pick 2 things to hammer his opponent on like congressional lack of funding for border security and on-going investigations despite Mueller report while linking the entire democrat party to the 4 congresswomen of the #jihadsquad.

No no It doesn't. But I don't think you and I will agree on this. That's ok BrooksBear. These 4 ladies, mark my words are trouble. You need to pay attention closely to what they expect and want. Because in the end, you may wish you had. AOC, it has been stated, that she is not taking care of the district that elected her. There will be at least 3 candidates going up against her in this next election. You and I both know that she is an extremist. I am a lot older than you and I understand that we are not going to agree on many things. But I am proud that you are a Baylor Bear. Just a side note. Omar doesn't even know or understand what 9/11 was or about. You need to really pay attention to what she represents and says. And she is not unpologetic

You keep repeating a false claim.

Seriously go back and read what was really tweeted.

It's there in print. I'm sorry if you can't read words.
3rd-grade insults don't make you right, and frankly bubs I'm not sure you rate third grade by now.

Does your TDS make you regress, intellectually? Seems so.

He didn't list any names.

I didn't say he did. I said he clearly identified the 4 progressive women.

Are you saying it wasn't clear who he was talking about?

Are you disputing which women were the subject of the tweet? Because you'd be the only one.
He just said 4 congresswomen and they self identified LMAO

Do you really think screeching racism at every turn is a winning strategy for your political agenda?

It's not.

Trump's re-election strategy is simple: pick a few good things to highlight improvements like the tax cuts, the economy, a lower unemployment rate, Gorsuch/Kavanaugh...then pick 2 things to hammer his opponent on like congressional lack of funding for border security and on-going investigations despite Mueller report while linking the entire democrat party to the 4 congresswomen of the #jihadsquad.

The point of his tweets was in the last sentence.
I don't like Trump, and did not like him even before he got in to politics. However, he just manipulated the opposite party into embracing their crazy aunt in the attic wing with three tweets. His opponents were going to call him racist anyway (the "R" stands for "racist" to them). Politically, he might as well use it to his advantage.

That is one of the most cynical tales I've ever read.

Wait... lmao.

Are you REALLY arguing that it wasn't clear who he was talking about? He tweeted. Then people responded, then he DOUBLED DOWN and listed them BY NAME last night.

Hahahahhahahahaha

I get that you will argue any point in bad faith. But holy ****, this is a weird new low for you.
Well, if Trump really did "double down" and "listed them by name", you should have no problem posting the link to prove it.

Woof. You're REALLY BAD AT THIS.

"Trump ran through a litany of criticism aimed at the four women, accusing them of "helping to fuel the rise of a dangerous, militant hard left." He called out the four members of the "Squad" by name, highlighting past statements they have made criticizing the president and his administration's immigration policies."

You care about arguments until you lose them.

You may think it is cynical, but I'm right. Trump, to his political enemies, is evil incarnate. Nothing he can do will change that for them. He could cure cancer and they would complain that he was costing doctors their jobs and putting a strain on Social Security. He's using that hatred to draw them in to a contest more to his advantage. I don't like it, but it's pretty apparent what he's doing.

What? Lol. What does that have to do with anything?

I'm saying my expectations are so low for Trump that I wouldn't even wish for him to try and cure cancer. That's like asking my 3 year old to write a symphony. Start with nighttime potty training.

Trump is a horrible leader. He's completely inept. He has the weakest ego and is utterly incapable of dismissing a slight. He's not at all competent. Remember how many tries it took for him to pass his travel ban? It wasn't because of the rule itself, but because he couldn't shut the **** up about it being a "Muslim ban." People fighting the rule kept winning by quoting the president.

Same thing with the census rule. He couldn't shut the **** up. He kept saying the quiet part out loud.

Don't you ever get tired of having to defend him for the DUMBEST **** he's caused? He simply can't help himself.

Instead of putting these women in their place, he's making them rockstars. Omar's approval rating at home spiked.

And it's only going to get uglier. He's going to make this completely about race and grievance politics for the next 1.5 years. He's going to respond to every slight and take every low road doing it. And republicans and the party will be scarred for it.

And I actually hate that because, in a two party system, we need honest prevaricators on both sides. And while Democrats may be soft and prone to being TOO reactive and bleeding hearts, the demographics of this country are on their side. And this Republican Party is radicalizing the youth of our country.

Something has to change, but it won't so long as people like you blindly support this President even in the face of clear racism on his part.

He's completely inept. He can't even fill a cabinet. He said he'd surround himself with the best people and instead we got a bunch of political neophytes, D-list republicans who couldn't work in any other administration, and a couple walking definitions of nepotism.

He has one of the most effective senate majority leaders of all time, inherited control of both houses and had an insanely favorable senate/ house map in 2018 and he still managed to **** it up completely.

He's not playing 3-dimensional chess. He's a doddy old racist taking advantage of the rotting infrastructure of the modern Republican Party and claiming credit for an economy someone else fixed. Also, gerrymandered states as a result of the 2010 wave election gave him an incredible advantage.

An even MARGINALLY competent President in his place would be so much more successful.

Instead, we have our county's worst person.
