The FEC is doing what it always does, which is quote the law. They aren't explaining anything because they don't know.
And if the law is as the FEC quoted it, then Trump openly violated the law in a press conference when he called for assistance from China in investigating Biden.
so???

Presidents ask foreign countries for help, investigating, etc ALL the time.
Being mad is not a statutory exemption to obstruction of justice.
Yes it is.

I can barely believe what I'm watching. It's like the Dems are practically trying to hand the election to Trump. It is mind boggling .

Wish the Dems in the House would quit screwing around and just go ahead and formally vote to proceed with impeachment. Put every single member on record. DO IT!

You'd think this big, important inquiry would've warranted a vote. Guess not. Wonder why.

I just don't understand why some of you are incapable of criticizing Trump. Are you so shallow that you cannot admit a mistake?

Whether or not it is illegal, it is a national disgrace what Trump has done. He is asking foreign governments, including an adversary, to investigate a political opponent (not to mention a former vice president). If he were a democrat, you would be shaking so bad from anger that you may not even get the word "impeach" out.

Trump is a train wreck. He has no moral compass. I am a Republican, and there is no telling how long it will take our party to recover from his corruption. I pray someone will convince him not to run again, maybe for medical reasons. If not, then hopefully there will be enough Republicans in the Senate with the courage and dignity to do the right thing. Trump needed to go two years ago.

Dems utilized foreign sources in the attempt to dig up dirt on the Trump campaign both before and after the 2016 election .

But that's ok because Trump is Hitler and had no business stopping Hillary Clinton from becoming the first woman president of the United States .

Now it's up to Elizabeth Warren to make history, then confiscate all guns, open our borders to all immigrants, provide free medical care for everyone, free college tuition, destroy evil corporations, and immediately end the use of fossil fuels while raising taxes to 65% on anyone making over $200,000 per year.

Yep, yep, yep. A thousand times yep.
Have you read the transcript - in NO WAY does he ask for 'help'. Legally there are 10+ extremely reputable former non partisan DOJ Lawyers and CIA officials that have said this is literally NOTHING.

Did you also know what Ukraine asked for had NOTHING to do w/ our foreign aid package - it was about buying military equipment so it was not tied into any American aid to Ukraine. That alone throws this whole ridiculous story in the trash. Something you will NEVER hear from the Libs who are pushing this. At every level this is a scam pushed by the Dems. I thought they would have learned their lesson after Russia corruption by the Dems that is about to be exposed, but they are just doubling down. They can do that w/ 95% of the press pushing their agenda. Sad times we live in.

Have you avoided the news the previous 3 years? This is a 1 on a scale of 10 compared to what the Dems tried to do in 2015 & 2016 which is an 11 on a scale of 10 when it comes to corruption.

A national disgrace? What planet do you live on, what is the 'national disgrace'?

No I wouldn't. I wouldn't be able to care less. It is a nothing burger. I bet you 90% of the country wouldn't even know that was improper in any way unless someone on MSNBC told them so. Nobody effing cares.

Look, I think Trump is a narcissist a-hole. I find almost nothing redeeming about the man personally. But I don't need someone to look up to, I need someone to appoint conservative judges and stop bowing to other countries on environmental and trade issues who aren't living up to their end of the bargain. And to stand firm on some of the issues I care about. If that could be someone whom I also admire, that would be really great. But I'll take Trump over some less egotistical (it's all relative) Dem who's pro-abortion, anti-2nd Amendment, and is promising "free" stuff to people in an attempt to buy votes (bought with the tax money of people like me).

Trump is investigating potential crimes and abuses of power. That's part of a president's job. He doesn't lose the right to do that because an opposing candidate is implicated. Just like Obama had the right to investigate Russian interference in 2016 even though Trump was supposedly implicated.

Trump is not concerned about potential crimes or abuses of power and you are smart enough to know that. He is abusing his own power as president to get other countries to do something which could impact his likely opponent in the upcoming election.

But you guys keep on defending him....down with the Trumptanic. I think you will end up on the wrong side of history.

Trump is not on an anti-corruption crusade. If he were he wouldn't be buddies with MBL, Putin, etc., he'd be investigating them.

Trump is on an anti-Biden crusade. He is campaigning, and he held up public funds allocated to Ukraine to advance his campaign.

#1 - it wasn't the aid already passed by congress - another media lie that has been pushed everywhere

He's concerned about crimes and abuses of power at least to the extent they affect him. He was and is affected by things like the Russia conspiracy theory and the special counsel investigation. If he has personal motivations for discovering the truth, so be it. The Founders understood that ambitions and power struggles were part of politics, and they designed a system of checks and balances accordingly.
