Moron. Most diseases are named for the place they first appear, so "Wuhan" or "China" are both appropriate names for this virus.

Did you scream "racist" when MERS was named? MERS stands for"Middle East Respiratory Syndrome" after all, but I doubt you said a word, because you did not hate Obama, were not looking for any excuse to insult him.

You are way out of line, Waco. Grow up or shut up.

Oh. Is that why one White House official called it the "Kung Flu" to an Asian Reporter's face?

Because viruses are named after where they're from?

Ever notice you always look bad when you're defending this president?
Who exactly called it "Kung Flu"? When two White House officials asked for a name, the reporter spluttered and could not say.

Ever notice you are willing to grab onto anything if you can use it as a political weapon?

Who cares if they did? China should be ridiculed interminably for this Chinese virus. Their cultural practices (or lazy CDC lab hygiene) created it. Their commie propaganda machine that jails dissidents and those speaking out about it spread it beyond their borders. This needs to be tied to China every single time we talk about it and they need to be blamed for every single bit off loss of life and economic damage.
Criticizing Chinese medical practices from a country where we YouTubed our way to a measles outbreak.

Anti vaccine movement was started by one of them there 'experts'. Chinese epidemics cum pandemics are started by eating diseased road kill. The lesson here isn't equivalence. It's that worshipping 'experts' is a very bad idea.

Just like 2016, you overvalue your position.
How do you know who I voted for in 2016? I'm curious, please lay out for me my political opinions, since you know so much. Do you think I voted for Hilary?

I'm not assessing the 2016 election, I'm assessing the current President's performance. How has he lead this country? What good has he done? There are always problem areas, what has he addressed? What has he done for the least of these, the poor? Trump's Presidency has not been all bad, but at its core, I cannot stand someone in office that is racist. What he said to non white senators, "go back to where you came from," when they are as American as you or I, but told that because of the color of their skin... if there was ever any doubt, it was laid to rest there. And let's not fool ourselves, he's not really any -ist other than himself-ist. He might not be the worst President we've ever had, but he's definitely the most disgusting. People hate the guy for a reason. He tried really hard to earn it. America is bigger than Blue v Red, it's a whole lot of people, and he never ever tried to do anything but "win" for his base.

He will end his Presidency with a horrific economy (not really his fault), truly hated by half the country, impeached, and if the winner does write history, the worst legacy of any American public figure, ever. He is divisive to a fault, and I cannot accept that. I believe in a united, strong America. Not all the same, but united. People who tear us apart are traitors to the Constitution, and to the intent of our founding fathers.
I said nothing about Hillary, and the absolute venom in your last 2 paragraphs tells me where your heart is.

You see what you want, and ignore anything which contradicts it. The "current position" is far more complex than what the media is selling today.

You seem to think I am some kind of Trump cheerleader. I was one of the 'never Trumpers' in 2016, because of those personality issues I saw in him. But it's a lie to call him racist, as anyone who has noted his actual work and behavior knows. It's a lie to say Trump earned the hate which the Left has poured on him without end since he announced he was running.

The economy is nowhere near "horrific". Once the virus crisis passes, the economy will come back very strong because of sound fundamentals, the same fundamentals that created the full employment and GDP growth you are ignoring now. And yes, Trump gets some credit for that for getting regulations lowered where appropriate and in protecting certain industries. And "worst legacy" is total BS. All in all Trump has done a solid job, and I could point to many recent Presidents who don't stand up as well to scrutiny, but those men enjoyed media cheerleaders. Trump is rude and clumsy in how he speaks at times. but for a lot of Americans that is unimportant. As for calling him a "traitor", that is laughably false and again demonstrates nothing but a despicable malice on your part.
This is a great example of arguing without intellectual honesty. It's a waste of time to try to be reasonable with someone like you. You didn't mention Hilary, but you did mention my position in 2016. What did that mean? We all know, the implication was that I was sure Hilary would win in 2016, like I am sure Biden will win this current year election. So I address that, and all the sudden you didn't mention Hilary? Again, dishonesty.

I am a fairly open minded person, which is why I am able to at least attempt to recognize things for what they are. I don't get along with close minded people like you or generic florida man, or people who think they are progressive leftists, for the same reason. I am willing to poke around, and call things out, and you are only willing to shout in echo chambers.

If the economy hasn't been in a horrific state the past few weeks, as in the stock market brought back to 2008 levels, then what is horrific to you? An estimated 2 million will lose their jobs in all of this, is that not horrific? I do agree the economy will come back, but this is not good, it's not mediocre, it is really bad for the economy.

Trump has not been the worst President ever, but he will have the worst legacy ever, of American Presidents. I do think people who intentionally tear America apart like him, and other politicians, are violating their oath to the Constitution. His obligation is not only to those who voted for him, it is to represent, and work for all Americans, which he has failed miserably on.

That is not despicable malice, it's an opinion that differs from yours. I know you don't understand the difference, but again, you're not alone. Many others on your wavelength.

Before Virus Outbreak, a Cascade of Warnings Went Unheeded

Quote:

But the planning and thinking happened many layers down in the bureaucracy. The knowledge and sense of urgency about the peril appear never to have gotten sufficient attention at the highest level of the executive branch or from Congress, leaving the nation with funding shortfalls, equipment shortages and disorganization within and among various branches and levels of government.

The October 2019 report in particular documents that officials at the Departments of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services, and even at the White House's National Security Council, were aware of the potential for a respiratory virus outbreak originating in China to spread quickly to the United States and overwhelm the nation.
"Nobody ever thought of numbers like this,'' Mr. Trump said on Wednesday, at a news conference.
In fact, they had.

Trump Ignored U.S. Intelligence Warnings on Coronavirus, Report Says

Trump was aware of the imminent threat of the coronavirus since January, but administration officials say they 'just couldn't get him to do anything about it'

Quote:

WASHINGTON The U.S. intelligence community repeatedly warned President Donald Trump about the danger posed by the highly contagious coronavirus during the months of January and February, according to a report published by the Washington Post on Friday.

The warnings failed to convince Trump, who despite the information intelligence officials presented to him, downplayed the gravity of the situation and compared the virus to a regular flu outbreak.

Trump Ignored Multiple Classified Coronavirus Warnings

Quote:

US intelligence agencies gave Trump multiple ominous classified warnings about the coronavirus, but the president ignored them all.
Via The Washington Post:

U.S. intelligence agencies were issuing ominous, classified warnings in January and February about the global danger posed by the coronavirus while President Trump and lawmakers played down the threat and failed to take action that might have slowed the spread of the pathogen, according to U.S. officials familiar with spy agency reporting.

LOL, you know who debunked the expert right? Experts, not prayer warriors.
