DC has a Democrat black mayor who green lighted that vandalism/art work.
Racist comment --- the painting was asked for as art work not vandalism.
Anti racist comment --- The Protesters came together to express their outrage and grief with this art work
BaylorFTW --- And there has been a little feud going back and forth with her and Trump:

i am seriously concerned for you brother...Gratuitous

nothing you posted was a racist or anti racist comment, you need help... you are seeing things that are not there
that part in bold is key. All too often, one sees what one needs to see in order to justify the way one feels.

It feels good to care, to be in a noble fight against something evil. So if there isn't much evil out there, one must redefine the innocuous to represent something sinister, in order to justify a continued crusade against evil.

The urge to be better is one of mankind's most noble traits, and letting the effort do do so cross over into virtue posturing as better than others is one of mankind's most insidious flaws.

liberals are miserable people...

The comedy film Kindergarten Cop has been pulled from a film festival after protesters claimed it glorifies police traumatizing children and compared it to the explicitly racist 1915 silent movie Birth Of A Nation.

Organizers of the NW Film Center in Portland, Oregon announced this week that the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger comedy would be pulled from the lineup and replaced with a documentary celebrating the late Rep. John Lewis.

Ryan Reynolds 'Deeply and Unreservedly Sorry' for Getting Married at South Carolina Plantation

"It's something we'll always be deeply and unreservedly sorry for," the actor told Fast Company in a new interview. "It's impossible to reconcile."

Reynolds and Lively married in 2012 at Boone Hall, a former plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. In the years before the Civil War, Boone Hall was the site of a brick-building business, which thrived from the labor of enslaved people. The plantation displays nine slave cabins, called "Slave Street." Historians and activists have long said using such venues for celebratory events like weddings glorifies the American system of slavery and the violent oppression of Black people.

I always take comfort in the fact that while Cancel Culture is concerning, at least it demonstrates that's about what makes up so-called "systematic" racism. We have to though tantrums about 20-year-old movies because actual racism is almost impossible to find.

Agreed.

I think BLM and others should focus on the big fundamental blocks of life.
-EDUCATION
-JOBS/CAREER
-HOUSING
-JUSTICE
-CONSTITIONAL RIGHTS

If we can have fairness and equality in those areas, then things like "Kindergarten Cop" or black pumpkins or a Christopher Columbus statue should be irrelevant to people's liberty.

75% of black kids grow up without a father. If we don't find a way to fix that, nothing else will work.

That's crazy talk. I was told by the movement dedicated to black lives that what really matters is that, and I quote;

"We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and "villages" that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable."

As an initial step, NASA will no longer refer to planetary nebula NGC 2392, the glowing remains of a Sun-like star that is blowing off its outer layers at the end of its life, as the "Eskimo Nebula." "Eskimo" is widely viewed as a colonial term with a racist history, imposed on the indigenous people of Arctic regions. Most official documents have moved away from its use. NASA will also no longer use the term "Siamese Twins Galaxy" to refer to NGC 4567 and NGC 4568, a pair of spiral galaxies found in the Virgo Galaxy Cluster. Moving forward, NASA will use only the official, International Astronomical Union designations in cases where nicknames are inappropriate.

HBO Max Adds "Proper Social Context" Intro to 'Blazing Saddles'

Blazing Saddles is currently streaming on HBO Max, along with a new introduction that automatically plays before the Mel Brooks classic begins.

It is unclear exactly when the intro was added to the 1974 comedy classic starring the late Cleavon Little and the late Gene Wilder, but it was sometime after the film premiered on the streaming service in July.
"The intro was added to ensure that the film was put into the proper social context," an HBO Max spokeswoman told The Hollywood Reporter.

The situation is similar to that of Gone with the Wind, which was pulled from HBO Max not long after the streaming service was introduced due to outcry over its outdated and racist story and themes. The 1939 war classic returned in June with additional context and a disclaimer attached.
TCM host and University of Chicago cinema and media studies professor Jacqueline Stewart provides the intro to Blazing Saddles. She also did the intro for Gone With the Wind.

A little more than three-minutes long, Stewart's intro puts the bigotry and racist language in context, the host saying, "as the storyline implies the issue of race is front and center in Blazing Saddles. And racist language and attitudes pervade the film. But those attitudes are espoused by characters who are portrayed here as explicitly small-minded, ignorant bigots. The real, and much more enlightened perspective, is provided by the main characters played by Cleavon Little and Gene Wilder."

Stewart also shares some behind the scenes tidbits about the film, such as Richard Pryor was under consideration for the lead role, but Warner Bros. refused due to his substance abuse issues and controversial stand-up routines. However, he is still a credited screenwriter.
