I have way more money and progeny than 4 years ago, which is great, but have deteriorated physical health due to high workaholism and borderline alcoholism, so it's a wash?

As a rich person I tend to see my personal betterment to be uncorrelated to the overall health of the country. I think that querying the oppressed underclass is a better indicator of such matters. Sort of like how the advancement of women's rights directly correlates to a nation's prosperity.
You should lead the charge by giving up anything you make above $50K per year to fix those issues.
You go first. I'm tired of this stupid argument, when Christians openly support a president who flouts every principle of following Jesus, starting with the basics of treating other people the way you would have them treat you and definitely including caring for the "least of these."

If you want others to lead by example, do it yourself first. Until then, stfu.
I'm not a Christian and I believe everyone should keep more of the money they make. You are barking up the wrong tree. Username checks out claims that work needs to be done to help the poor, but he is self-proclaimed rich. So that means he clearly isn't doing his part if that's what he believes. Why don't you call him out and not be a hypocrite for once in your life? And stop trying to put everyone in a box. You can't find a box for me.
So you are saying Jinx should call herself out? How does that work?

EZ, she logs in as RD2WINAGNBEAR86.

It is simple.

I am much better off financially than four years ago, but the occupant of the White House had nothing to do with it.

In order for more people to enjoy the kind of freedoms I currently enjoy, and to expand on those, I'll be choosing from the excluded Yellow column: Jo Jorgensen.

I have no idea if that is Brooks or not but if it is, I can tell you first hand, he is a great guy. About as brainwashed left from a lifetime in academia as they come but as a human he is a good one. And if he recently got "rich" (and who knows what the definition of that is) then I need to get further south so he can buy dinner.

Negative ghostrider, but apparently those two must have had quite the interpersonal relationship for the Aggie to be so hung affixed.

Are you not religious? Or do you practice another faith? This is not a particularly friendly forum for non-believers, so I'm surprised you have so matter-of-factly announced that you're "not a Christian." But I suspect that your reliably conservative views will net you forgiveness for that sin, egregious as it's considered by some.

I'm tired of corporations that socialize their costs, including pensions and unemployment, and privatize their profits. When they start giving everything THEY make above a certain very low threshold ($75K is supposedly the minimum family income in this country where money is not a constant worry) for the beterment of society, you can start pointing at individuals to contribute in a similar fashion. But you should never ask other people to do something you aren't willing to do yourself, whether it's pick up dog poop or pay more taxes or take reasonably public health precautions to reduce the spread of COVID 19).

Let's be clear: You don't have a screaming idea of what username or anyone else on this forum does to help the poor, so your statement that "he clearly isn't doing his part" has no basis in fact you can verify in any way. You read a lot more into his post than he put there, and you lambasted him for "not doing his part" when you don't even know what his part IS, much less whether he's doing it or not. And YOU claim to be the fact-based, objecive poster here. Wow.

What he does say is that he's worked really hard in the last 4 years and made a lot of money doing it. You state in the post I'm responding to directly that you "believe everyone should keep more of the money they make." So what's your problem?

Although I don't pretend that a career politician like Biden doesnt relentlessly pander to the greatest common denominator in the electorate, your point highlights how conservatives are limited fundamentally in being unable to grasp that a person can evolve in their personal beliefs. Except for apparently their ability to tolerate atrocious personal conduct from the commander-in-chief. Conservatives couldn't stand that in the 90s but seem to have well adjusted to it in the 2020s.

My personal political shift from right-wing to centrist is driven directly by the intransigent nature of conservatives. It's as though there's some badge of honor in those circles for whose mind can be the least malleable. I have found the leftist intelligentsia types to be among the best capable at listening and self-examining beliefs, which makes me far more interested in their party, even if don't fully buy into their ideas.

Thank you - I bet most libs on this board didn't know 10% of this and I didn't even know several of these.

If you are a liberal who watches CNN or MSNBC you would think Trump has been tweeting playing golf and hanging out w/ Putin the last 3 years. The amazing thing is even w/ all the crazy distractions by the libs w/ impeachment & Mueller and the press he's still done an incredible amount of positive things that help people on both sides.

I'm not going to get into my faith with some psycho on a message board. I'm just saying I'm not a Christian. With that said, I don't attack people for their faith. That's the difference between me and the others that are non-Christians on here. My point was, don't assume just because I sometimes agree with the conservatives on here (I also agree with the Democrats on here quite a bit) that I'm closed-minded and that I'm a Christian. You are trying to put labels on me when you have no idea who I am or what I stand for.

Username said he was wealthy. If he is wealthy, he is not giving away enough of his money to the poor. He very well may be some to help the poor, but if he is wealthy, he isn't doing as much as he could. So again, you need to call him out before you call out anyone else. But I know that won't happen because you agree with Username on many ideologies.

That's the difference between you and me. I'm not afraid to disagree with people I sometimes agree with on some issues. If someone is being intellectually inconsistent, I'm going to call them out for it. You should try being consistent once in a while and not predetermine your opinions based on what political stance an individual has, you might find yourself to be free and it may help you with that multiple personality issue you have.

to answer the original question......NO I'm not better off. I'm just in the 2 worst businesses Rona-Wise. Oil and Gas and Multifamily. And, I don't blame Trump for that. Certainly , he could of done a much, much better job in his response to Rona, when it happened and today, but, he caught and unlucky break with Rona and the economy as he bet the farm on the economy, which no-one can disagree that it was on fire pre Rona. Unfortunately, for him, he is such a horrible person that folks at the ballot box will give him no sack if the economy is good. He is most certainly done in November.

Possibly

In that event whomever is handling Biden are going to drastically raise our taxes, attack the oil and gas industry, provide free medical care for illegals ( in the middle of a pandemic no less.....imagine the flood coming from central America with THAT deal ), eliminate ICE, slash military spending, resume Obama's litigation against the Christian community, tax corporations to the point of job loss, appoint more liberals to the Supreme Court and support the absolute destruction of our country's culture .

Think about whats really at stake .
