Another 17 people were shot in the city on Monday alone as gun violence and general crime numbers continue to surge.Twelve of those were shot in Brooklyn across 10 separate incidents. Two were shot in Manhattan, and one in each of the city's three other boroughs. Two of the shooting victims have died from their wounds.
During the month of June alone, the NYPD reported a 130 percent uptick in the number of shootings, a 30 percent increase in murders, a 118 percent surge in the number of burglaries, and a 51 percent increase in the number of car thefts -- all while arrests dropped by 40,000. In one particularly brutal incident last week, surveillance footage showed a man being shot dead in an intersection in broad daylight while walking with his six-year-old daughter.

Seriously, how can there be that many stupid voters in her district??
2-3 consecutive generations raised by single moms .
This has to change
Ruining our country
Thanks LBJ
Don't RIP
LBJ and his Great Society legislation.
Not one person in a thousand even understands the connection .
Well done Florida.
LBJ is just another Democrat in a long line that's hurt and injured blacks. He was absolutely corrupt and a Texas disgrace possibly in on murder of JFK as rumored
Terrible human!
But what his Great Society has done to black race deserves Hell as much as any human ever including our worst examples. Roots of unrest in our country can be traced to LBJ and his desire to "have these ******s voting democrat for 200 years" with his "Great Society!" The man was evil poison for the black race and our country. All done for his lust for power!
Other than the comment about JFK's assassination I agree. You can trace many of the domestic issues we are dealing with today to former Presidents like FDR and LBJ. By comparison to those two, Nixon was a choir boy.
While I personally don't believe there is any evidence that LBJ had anything to do with JFK''s assassination.....
Jackie Kennedy always believed he was directly involved.
IMO FDR was a great President ( of course winning WW2 certainly helped his legacy ) and Nixon was extremely dangerous and neurotic.
The only 'great' president in my lifetime was Ronald Reagan.
Yes, FDR was a great war time leader (other than he misread how much of a problem Stalin and the USSR were going to be post war). Otherwise, he was a disaster domestically (the "New Deal" was a demonstrable failure and helped prolong the Great Depression) especially in the long run. Opened the Pandora's box of ever increasing government spending as the "solution" for everything. And that thinking increased exponentially from there.
FDR was by no means perfect , but without his leadership the US was ripe for even far more socialism during the dark days of the Great Depression.
He remains my favorite Democratic President of the 20th century.

AOC speaks of a shortage of jobs in her district but she blocked Amazon from building a facility that would have provided thousands of jobs.

Some insane responses in this thread. AOC is correct that crime is rising because of desperation. A global pandemic is happening no matter how hard anyone shuts their eyes.
I'm not a fan of hers, but ignorant or not, we need more people like her in Congress, and fewer bribe takers.
