Unfortunately, Ford Motor Co. has bought into the electric car fantasy. This is not going to end well for them. All Ford can hope for is a Democrat administration at default time and they won't be forced to pay back their loan. Ultimately, us taxpayers will pay for this too.

Ford spun off the electric division because it was an albatross that was killing profit. They did that specifically so that so they could show that the main auto division was profitable and show just how much loss there was on the electric side.

I don't think they are as sold out as you might think. They are, smartly, doing what the federal government is demanding so that if the technology wins they are poised well. If it loses they can shut down that division.

Well, whoever designed the electric Mustang as a suburban housewife SUV needs to be spun out of the industry...

What don't you like about it? It's definitely not a Mustang but it's a very capable SUEV. Maybe the best of its type.
Ok, re-name it the Pinto.

Then put the same crew that designed the new Bronco on creating a REAL electric pony car, reminiscent of the original Lee Iaococa version that has been a classic for 60 years...

Sorry, that is just wrong...

I agree with all that and the same thing goes for the current Chevy blazer. That thing aint a blazer its some ugly mom mobile crossover suv. Give me a new version of the K5 with 4x4 and a removable top. I have a 79 K5 and would love to see them do a new version similar to the old square bodys.
YES! Tell them to channel Keanu Reeves Bronco in "Speed." Yes, I know not most attractive, but cool as *****

I love the K5.

I bought a '75 K5 Blazer, while I was at Baylor. Did a ton of work on it. Removed the hardtop and put on a full soft top. That was the last year that they made it convertible all the way to the windshield. It was lifted with 33" mud tires... crate 350 motor with a rebuilt 700R4 transmission. It was a beast, and I loved it.

Wife didn't like it so much, so I had to get rid of it once the kids started coming.

If GM made a modern version based off that truck... it would sell like hotcakes!

Sounds familiar! Had a beautiful 92 F150, dual tanks, chrome. But it was a bench seat...
My 96 F150 Eddie Bauer Supercab had a bench seat. I loved that truck too. That 351 V8 was a killer!

That bench seat was nice when I was cruising with a girl... nothing getting in the way.

[Verse 1]
Ridin' along in my automobile
My baby beside me at the wheel
I stole a kiss at the turn of a mile
My curiosity runnin' wild
Cruisin' and playin' the radio
With no particular place to go

[Verse 2]
Ridin' along in my automobile
I's anxious to tell her the way I feel
So I told her softly and sincere
And she leaned and whispered in my ear
Cuddlin' more and drivin' slow
With no particular place to go

[Verse 3]
No particular place to go
So we parked way out on the kokomo
The night was young and the moon was bold
So we both decided to take a stroll
Can you imagine the way I felt?
I couldn't unfasten her safety belt

[Verse 4]
Ridin' along in my calaboose
Still tryin' to get her belt aloose
All the way home I held a grudge
But the safety belt it wouldn't budge
Cruisin' and playin' the radio
With no particular place to go

Then kids came and Child Seats...

Maui fires hit August 8th.

Since then Biden has taken two vacations and said "no comment" twice to reporters.

I believe he is going BACK to Lake Tahoe to stay with his billionaire friend after visiting Maui where there are nearly 1,000 people missing (likely burned to a crisp).

Ted Cruz got more grief for going to Cancun during the Icepocalypse.

I know some folks are sick of me blaming Trump for everything, but I think Biden is being judged on a Trump curve. I can think of no other explanation for him holding relatively steady. A good chunk of the electorate cannot simply evaluate Biden. It's Biden v. Trump.

That's BS, since polls for Biden v DeSantis, Biden v Scott and so on still show Biden in that range.

The fact is the media is running cover for Joe and the Donks, and that won't change until the Republicans get serious about going after 'The Big Guy'.

You may be right. The only "data" I really have to back it up is the historically high % of mid-term voters who voted Dem due to Trump.

As for Biden polls against the other GOP candidates, I just think voters know Trump will be the nominee, and when they think GOP, they think Trump. Edit: I should have added also that you'd expect GOP challengers to perform poorly against an incumbent in general election polls at this stage.

I usually try to provide data to support my arguments, and again, I don't have that here. I just can't figure it out. And, as for the Joe/Hunter stuff, despite the lack of media outrage, a strong majority believe Joe was involved.

The thing is, it's still really early. The GOP nomination won't be known for another 9 months, then there is the General campaign after that.

I'm old enough to have seen a lot of swings, and the only thing I am certain for 2024, is that it will be different in several important ways from what we see now.

I also think it's important to separate national mood from the states, even cities, which will decide 2024. And we have almost no data at that level right now, nothing published anyway.
