Take a look sometime and the % of the population over 60. Stupid to piss off that bloc. Better to just demand someone prove they have a soul, brain and spine. Shewt, AOC proved that young people can be just as stupid as old Pelosi.
Septuagenarians and octogenarians, with only the most tentative, saggy and not long for this world skin in the game, should not be making decisions they won't be living with in 3-5 years. At a certain point, when you are on the dole, you should bow out and let the people actually paying the bills decide how the house is run.
Translation: let's find a way to screw the retirees, and let's find it quick.

Retirees getting massively more out of SSI than most ever put in? No. They aren't getting screwed in this. They just should not be allowed to vote for things they won't live with.

Since you seem to know...

If one retires at 65, how long would it take to collect only one's contributions?

Thanks but it doesn't answer my question.

My research showed that prior to 2010 an a erage couple would get more out than they paid in, but that appears to have changed.

Sam didn't mention SSI; why did you bring that up?

The report shows 90% of people will get more from SSI and Medicare than they pay in….since you couldn't read it.

At this point I'll take any dollars/data. I read Canon's link but did not find the 90% he refers to. I did find that since 2010 it appears most people will not get back in as much as they paid. That seems to go along with what Canon says, so don't waste any time on it unless you're curious.

And Canon, you never did say why you brought SSI into a discussion advocating for restricting voting rights.

You would need to look at the percentage of the population that earns the income threshold at which more is paid in than received. 90% don't meet that. That's a logical step I understand you couldn't take.

You should read for comprehension. Age limits on running for office (as already exist) are not voting restrictions. But try and spin spin spin.

They had voting rights. You want the state to take them away.
