Baylor has to regain some momentum on the trail over the course of the next few days because things have been stalled since the official visits ended. If things don't go well then the expectations for this class go down the drain which means the only cure would be winning on the field. Very important days ahead as the staff needs some wins coming off of the busy official visit month. Let's talk about some of the prospects....- Dekaney WR Tanook Hines is set to decide on July 8th now as he moved his decision date a little bit back. The explosive wideout is a take for every school left on his list which feels like Baylor, Texas, USC, and Notre Dame. He could also go in a very random direction but I think those are the four. My lean here is Notre Dame but I think his recruitment could end up being a wild roller coaster over the next two weeks. Baylor definitely made an impression on the visit and want him in this class but I think he ends up out of state currently.- Cy Falls LB Kaleb Burns is making his decision on July 1st between Baylor and Texas Tech. Kaleb Burns told me Baylor is out so it will be Texas Tech. I flipped my prediction.As I mentioned all the momentum and smoke was in Techs direction BUT he recorded a Baylor commitment interview for the website which threw me off. Very rarely does that happen where a prospect does that but chooses elsewhere. Either way it's corrected now and is a tough blow for the class.- Ridge Point CB Bryson Webber is set to decide on July 4th. The top schools are Utah, Baylor, TCU, Nebraska, and Kansas. I lean towards Nebraska here at the moment but Baylor is still in this one right now and working hard to land him.- Kilgore CB Jayden Sanders is looking to make a decision next week at some point. I would call this a total toss up right now. I don't have a great feel on where he is going to decide to go. I would lean Michigan at the moment but all five of his schools feel somewhat in it still. I think things will narrow down soon.I don't think the staff would take more than two cornerbacks in a class and they already have one committed so just getting one here is the ideal situation. Either one would be a huge get and while getting neither would hurt at least it is a strong room with some good young depth.- Shadow Creek WR Jacorey Watson will make his decision on July 2nd. I think it is between Baylor, Houston, and Boston College. My prediction is in for Baylor and I still think Baylor will be the choice here as they held the lead going into the Boston College visit and it would be surprising if they lost a battle like that unless Watson just wants to leave the state. - Steele WR Jalen Cooper is eyeing an a July 1st OR early July decision. I think Baylor has a great shot here and is the direction I am leaning but Texas A&M is still certainly in the mix. He has a few others schools in there as well but right now I think those are the two at the top.- Fulshear EDGE Sheldon Rice and La Vega DL Eythan Thompson both committed to Houston this week. I think Rice was a numbers game situation as the staff has been waiting to see where Max Granville and Kamauryn Morgan would end up. They have been swinging for the fences at this position to get an immediate impact type to mix with a portal guy or two they will need to add next offseason. It is part of the reason why predictions can be tough because even if a guy wants to go one way sometimes the timing isn't right. I think Thompson was just looking for a reason to leave Waco and ultimately Houston offered that chance and he took it.- Lorena DL Jackson Blackwell is eyeing a potential Monday commitment and I believe he is between Baylor and Texas Tech. Right now I think Baylor being the dream school and being close to home will give them the slight edge but this is basically a toss up for me right now.- Richland RB Michael Turner does not have a decision date set yet but I think it will be this summer. Baylor, Oklahoma State, Utah, SMU, Missouri and Arizona State are the ones in it right now. I still have a slight lean to Baylor but it is very slight and that is all due to trusting Khenon Hall to win this battle. - South Oak Cliff EDGE Kamauryn Morgan just took his official visit to A&M and still has a top 3 of the Aggies, Bears, and SMU. But I think it is truly a head to head battle with Baylor and A&M. I think he will end up deciding in the next week or so instead of waiting till August.- Oaks Christian (CA) TE Stevie Amar should be nearing a decision in the next week or so and I think it is between Baylor and Cal at the moment. I am leaning Baylor here but the appeal of staying "home" is still in play.- Jackson Prep (MS) OL Matthew Parker is still committed to Vanderbilt and appears to be staying in that direction for now. Mason Miller and Baylor are still working on him though and this could be type of recruitment that requires a strong season to flip. Overall the visit was good and did put Baylor on his mind as a potential flip destination.
