A few housecleaning notes
- There are a couple of "senior" DL with decisions to make on if they return in 2023. As of now, I think Baylor sits in a favorable position to get both back for their Covid year but let me emphasize that no final decision has been made. - I think it's safe to expect Baylor to add one non-HS DL to the roster in some form or fashion. With all indications that Apu is off to the NFL, the type of addition is probably easy to guess. Fully expecting the recent JUCO DL offer Jerrell Boykins to be on campus soon. He has a long standing relationship with DJ Johnson. - There are a couple of other non-DL seniors who have a decision to make for 2023 as well. I don't have feedback on those two yet but some indications that at least one will return. Will update when I have more.- Transfer portal will be utilized overall as appropriate and according to space. Some players might need to decide to move on before transfer numbers inflate too large. Dave Aranda wants to build with high school as foundation and the 2023 class is viewed as a very good foundational piece. There aren't many guys they would trade for a transfer that isn't a guaranteed starter.- Offensively, the youth wave is real and staff is rightfully expecting a big jump with intentional focus of development just like we saw from Hal Presley and Monaray Baldwin this fall. There are a lot of guys to name off, but specifically want to highlight Kelsey Johnson and Richard Reese as major building blocks.- Youth maturing will be key for OL as well. Overall lack of snaps is a worry, but the talent is real on the roster. A good blend of Mazz and Byers with the other inexperienced should help, but it's a major question mark for 2023.- Focus for the off-season is going to be for the growth of the guys who were new to the field in 2022 to embrace the grind of winning with preparation. Baylor is now in the phase of getting old and staying old with program development. That can't be overstated and something that Baylor didn't have to do in 2021's championship team.- Things are never as good or bad as they seem. Baylor fans have every right to be disappointed with this season, but don't think it warrants cliff jumping anytime soon. I'm bullish on 2023 if key pieces return.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a SicEm365 rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the SicEm365 Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide SicEm365 readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
