Baylor DL TJ Franklin To Return for 2023 Season, Utilize Super Senior Season
Baylor defensive lineman TJ Franklin, a 2019 signee out of Temple (TX) High School, announced Monday morning his intentions to return to Baylor to play a fifth season for the Bears next fall.
As a senior in 2022, Franklin totaled 35 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. In his four-year career, the 6-foot-4, 290-pound lineman tallied 95 tackles, 18.0 tackles for loss and 8.0 sacks.
Franklin has played in each of his first four seasons for Baylor, exhausting the standard four years of traditional eligibility, including playing in 13 games in 2022. Franklin has opted to utilize his super senior season at Baylor in 2023 instead of leaving for the NFL Draft or entering the transfer portal.
Next year, Franklin will anchor a defensive line unit that lost Siaki Ika, Cole Maxwell, Jaxon Player and Chidi Ogbonnaya. The Bears added junior college nose tackle Jerrell Boykins and are awaiting a final decision from junior defensive lineman Gabe Hall.
SicEm365 is excited to announce an agreement with TJ Franklin, a native of Temple, Texas, by releasing an exclusive autographed 8x10 matte print from the 2022 season that is being sold through SicEm365’s store BearSkinz.com. Purchased pictures will be printed, autographed and shipped by the end of February.
