Where I am at...(6/22)
I have a busy day today with family but I am going to try to add topics in here when I can, there is a lot to unpack. The first thing to mention is that there is a ton of momentum and Baylor is very likely going to crush the commitment ratio from its official visits this summer. I feel confident that everyone is going to be very happy with where this class is at following official visit season which means more commits are coming!Four-star WR Chase Campbell is probably the prospect who Baylor has made the biggest impact on this weekend. Coming into the visit there was a thought he would end up elsewhere following his eight official visits but Baylor has made up ground. My read is this is between Baylor, North Carolina and Arkansas with the Bears making a strong push to the finish. There is much more of a chance here than before the trip and I would even say some optimism brewing. There is still lots of optimism for the four-star duo out of Lone Star, safety Jordan Deck and Davian Groce. I am hoping to hear more on them this week but the returns are good so far and there was lots of momentum for them going into the trip. The competition here is very high though so I am in wait and see mode before pushing all in for the Bears to land them. I will add more here when I can.Texas had gained a lot of momentum for top 40 prospect Jamarion Carlton following his official visit and it made a lot of sense. Texas pushed for him that weekend and it had an impact but he still kept the Baylor visit on his schedule for two weeks later while canceling a trip to College Station in the middle. Baylor is more of a contender here than many people want to think but I will also admit that I believe Texas is the biggest competition. My simple read is this....if Baylor showed Carlton him a plan (playing time, role, NIL, etc) he really liked then I think he will be a Bear, if not then he probably goes to Texas.I would be surprised if North Forney OL Marcus Page didn't commit. He fits what the staff is looking for when it comes to finding tackle prospects and even though he is very raw there is a ton of upside with him. He will take a while to develop but he fits the profile the staff is looking for especially with the limited tackle options on the board. If Baylor pushes and there is room then he should be a Bear.Baylor secured a commitment from Lake Belton WR Davion Peters yesterday morning and it was a big one for the class. I mentioned Baylor being in a good spot for him following his visit but still nice to see him shut it down quickly before taking all of his official visits. From the local connections to winning a battle against strong recruiting competitors to fit in the scheme to amount of NIL used this was a home run. He checks so many boxes in a wide receiver class that will be very strong. It is great to land the top guys in the state at certain positions but Baylor has to land guys like this to be a sustainable program year over year.I mentioned earlier this week that things are trending away from the Bears for Shadarius Toodle and Kosi Okpala. It's not the end of the world even though Baylor would have liked to land one of them to join Jamarion Phillips. The staff loves Phillips and he was a must land guy before he committed and must hold onto guy after he committed. If you take all things into account I think he is the top linebacker on the board. Jamar Chaney also brought in a rockstar class last year which featured four-star prospect Kaleb Burns so I wouldn't call this the biggest position of need even though they will likely take at least one more in this class.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a SicEm365 rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the SicEm365 Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide SicEm365 readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
