Strengths
Elite Athlete. That is exactly what Jones is a he proved at the Opening last year. His 40 time, shuttle, vertical, and power ball were terrific for a 219-pound player. He has all the tools to be a big time college football player if he can bring all of those testing scores to the field. Over the past two seasons, he had 2,530 total rushing yards, 35 rushing touchdowns, and averaged 11.4 yards per carry. Those are some really solid numbers especially since this team used multiple running backs. To go along with the testing and production, Jones has the versatility to play multiple positions for Baylor. His blocking is very solid and I see plenty of physicality in his film to the point where I think he COULD be a successful linebacker if he wanted to. The other option is that he stays at running back and becomes the power back that the Bears don’t know if they have currently not he roster. All of these things add to him being one heck of a pickup for the Bears 2019 class.
Weaknesses
I definitely question the competition that Jones went up against in TAPPS 4A. Not only was the competition not great but his team was far better than everyone else’s which definitely made life easier for him. His testing translating to film more frequently is something I would also like to see. He shows flashes but those elite numbers do not always show up when he makes a cut or tries to run away from defenders. I think part of this is because he runs too high right now, I bet this will be something the staff works on him with immediately.
How I see him fitting in at Baylor
He will definitely redshirt his first year on campus and then I think he will get very limited carries his RS-FR year. But as a RS-SO he will be one of the go to guys if he stays at the position. If he moves to LB, I still think the timetable will be the same except I think he would get more opportunities as a RS-FR.

Rating Explained
The testing numbers are off the charts and his production is there but the lack of offers and the competition he played against keeps him from being a four-star.
