Game Updates: North Shore vs. Katy on ESPNU
2019 ESPN High School Football Showcase at Galena Park ISD Stadium at 7 p.m.North Shore 0-0Key Players: RB Zach Evans (Sr, 6-1, 205), RB John Gentry (Sr, 5-11, 180, Arkansas Commit), OL Damieon George (Sr, 6-6, 325, Alabama Commit), OL Jaedon Roberts (Jr, 6-5, 340), LB Corey Flagg (Sr, 6-0, 215, Miami Commit), QB Dematrius Davis (Jr, 6-0, 200), WR Shadrach Banks (Jr, 6-0, 200, Texas A&M Commit), CB Joseph Wilson (Sr, 6-1, 185, Kansas State Commit), DB Denver Harris (So, 6-0, 190)The defending state champions are back to defend their title and they are loaded once again. Five-star running back Zach Evans is the headliner but the state championship game MVP quarterback Dematrius Davis is the guy who gets the offense rolling. The massive offensive line led by Alabama commit Damieon George helps. Star wide receiver Shadrach Banks is not going to play in this one because he is nursing a leg injury. On the defensive side, Joseph Wilson is an underrated three star corner and sophomore Denver Harris is one of the most talented 2022 players in the country.Katy 0-0Key Players: QB Bronson McClelland (Jr, 6-0, 210), CB Hunter Washington (Jr, 5-11, 180), WR Jordan Patrick (Sr, 5-10, 180), S Bobby Taylor (So, 6-2, 190), LB Ty Kana (So, 6-1, 205)This is a good Katy team. McClelland is a solid quarterback whose name should rise as the season progresses. He looked good over the summer at multiple camps. He will lead the offense while the defense is led by a talented group of defensive backs. Four-star cornerback Hunter Washington has offers from all over the country and sophomore transfer Bobby Taylor will be looking to slow down the Mustangs high-powered passing attack. Linebacker Ty Kana is one to watch in this game as he will be called upon to make a lot of plays to stop the star backs from North Shore. He camped at Baylor and is one I will keep a close eye on to see how he performs.I'll be posting some of the big game updates for those that can't watch. North Shore QB Dematrius Davis and the two young cornerbacks Denver Harris and Bobby Taylor are the focal points who Baylor has offered.

Under Armour Camp Thread
I got up at 4:40 and left my house by 5:15 to be in Houston by 9am. Got hung up as there were some construction and an accident on 45 had me arrive around 9:30. I checked the forecast at least 10 times over the past few days and it was to be 70 according to the forecast on Thursday, then 67 on Friday, and 67 on Saturday. Sunday never went above 56 until the end of the camp. It was windy, wet, and sort of nasty all day. Thankfully I brought layers and shoes to change into or I likely would have been down for a week with pneumonia. Grayson interviewed about 12 kids on video. I got Cody Jackson late after he had gotten sick at the end of camp. He was awarded a spot at the Under Armour 50 camp. I'll transcribe that interview this week.I also got an interview with Ryan Brauninger of Texags that coaches 12 Baseball and 2020 Baylor commit Zack Childers. It was windy, so the microphone picked up some wind gust at one point of the interview, so I apologize if it can't be fixed up.The prospect with the worst camp was A&M Commit Josh Bankhead. Stiff and slow footed. He got dominated by a few.Ran into Chad Jones, Hezekiah's dad, and he had four kids there and I think Baylor will likely reach out to at least two of them, Rob Wooten and a long CB we didn't get a chance to meet, but had a good day. We'll compile our notes and on the best at the positions, but best overall is Demond Demas. FREAK!Talked with most of the different reporters there and it appears Texas isn't truly looking at the same prospects as Baylor on the OL. TCU is going all in on Haynes KingGoing to be a fun time the next few weeks.
