Prime 21 Camp Thoughts
Amy, Damon, and I went to the Prime 21 Camp at Trinity Christian on Saturday from 7:45 to 1pm. The event ended at 5pm, but we all have lives and spending 10 hours in Cedar Hill wasn't on our agendas, as life calls. I've left a spot for Amy and Damon to add their thoughts as well.Brian's Thoughts:Grant Gunnell was the MVP and the time I saw him in warmups he looked better than before. Grant Tisdale has a solid arm, but I commented to Amy that Chris Herron looked better at the Baylor camp and was offered there. Would have been nice for Herron to have been invited.Michael Johnson, Jr. was impressive looking but erratic in throws.Jase McClellan and Qualan Jones are twins, but Jones is bigger at this stage and a year older. Jones feet were impressive and he went second in every drill behind McClellan. The only thing to say negative about Jones is where he plays in HS. If he were at CH, Desoto, etc... he'd have 30 offers. He ran 4.4 at the TCU camp per the TCU guys, but hasn't been offered yet. If he runs that on 7/22 I think the staffs' heads will explode in offering him. McClellan is a stud as well and he's still got 3 years of HS.Tyrion Davis of Southern Lab in Baton Rouge is big and special. He's committed to LSU and just watching him go through drills he looked NFL ready.Jonathan McGill is underrated at corner, but he's a little small, but had a good dayChase Lane committed to A&M didn't do anything for me.Myles Nash measured in at 5-5 153, he's quick, but that size needs to improve fastZach Nwachukwu just doesn't seem to have the top end speed at CB needed at an elite event like this. This could change, but right now the reality.Daxton Hill, brother of the starting RB at OSU is legit. He won DB MVPUCLA commit Kameron Brown looked small and slower than I remembered. Still solid receiver.Isaiah Spiller looked good, he's likely headed to A&M, like his dad. Nice guy that I met.Drew Sanders played TE and showed plus athleticism. I will be interested to see him at Colleyville Heritage over the next 3 years. He's a specimen as well. Bright future.Genson Hooper-Price has all the tools, but he didn't wear gloves early to keep them clean and got a case of dropsies. That got in his head and he had a hard time early in the sessions regaining his confidence. I take him and use his 6-5 202 frame that will be 230-250 in a year of lifting. Reminded me of Tommy Bush at the same stage, just larger. Quiet, reserved, and respectful kids with great possibilities ahead of them.Jordan Whittington looks great, but I don't see explosion. He's a LB to me playing WR.Trejan Bridges and Dylan Wright of Ennis got there late and both had great things to say about BU. Grant said he was told if he ran a 4.5 at camp they'd offer. He's trying to make it Saturday to do that. The issue is he has a game in GASO with Bridges. If the schedule permits they said they'd try to be there.Damon saw WR MVP Dylan Jantz of Gunter. He's not the tallest and white and has no offers because of it, but nobody got close to him. Call him Wes Welker, Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman, etc.. but he's coming to Baylor to camp and I hope he blows up, gets an offer, and accepts.Theo Wease is good/great, but his showboating and showing up opponents if he wins a rep and stares at QBs if they don't throw a good ball grow tiresome. Arjei Henderson looked good/great as well. Litchfield Ajavon looked 30 and played like it. He was a man from the S position. Marquez Beason is quick and legitTitus Swen is a smaller version of Qualon Jones and not quite as fast. Still good.Plae Wyatt measured 5-10.5 185 and broke up several passes as a safety. Donovan Ollie has good size, but he's stiff in his breaks. That can be fixed. Seemed a big overwhelmed like Genson at times.Jalen Curry is a stud. Just all you can say about him. "Jalen Pitre is like my brother. He tells me how much he likes it. How it is. How the staff is. My dad loves Baylor."Steven Parker from SOC is committed to Tech and a big LB. He's going to be a DE in college and isn't solid to Tech, but kept a spot.Amy's Thoughts:Damon's Thoughts:Overall:It was a wonderfully run camp and much better than 2015 when the first camp was run. We didn't have a reason to be out there last year, but everyone mentioned it was better this year as well. Under Armour gets it from a kid and media perspective. Inviting and courteous and even fed us. The Opening and Nike haven't even offered water to me in five years. Deion and his staff always ask if we need anything and yesterday Aeneas Williams asked if I wanted to warm him up during a break. My shoulder said, "no thanks."

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a SicEm365 rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the SicEm365 Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide SicEm365 readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Baylor and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Baylor and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
