Baylor (7-1) hits the road for the first time in over a month as the Bears travel to Fort Worth to take on in-state Rival TCU (3-4) at Amon Carter Stadium on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. CT.

Dave Aranda: “I think TCU would be very motivated. I think there's a rivalry to start. Their pieces are there, the talent is there. In watching the tape, it's been a little off here, a little off there. We need to be talking about doing 1/11th. There's eight guys, nine guys doing this, and then the two guys are not and whatever it is, and then they get hit. There's things like that, that show on tape. It is not something that is hard to diagnose. I think they're really close. And so I think for them to have a spark for them to rally, which I would anticipate they're going to do makes it that tougher of a game.

TCU — Wide Receiver Quentin Johnston

The former Temple Wildcats star has been one of the lone bright spots for the TCU offense, although he managed only two receptions for 5 yards in last week’s painful loss at Kansas State. In the two games prior, Johnston was at his best, posting back-to-back 100+ yard outings, including a monster performance against OU, catching seven passes for 185 yards and three touchdowns. 

Baylor — Defensive Tackle TJ Franklin

TCU’s offensive line is suspect, and Franklin has a knack for making a splash play each week. Against Texas, it was running down Casey Thompson at midfield as he broke off a 25-yard run. The drive would result in RJ Sneed’s (sort of) blocked punt a few plays later. Baylor’s offense then produced their beautiful 14-play drive to take the lead and never look back in the fourth quarter. So which Temple Wildcat alum gets bragging rights after Saturday?

The season is only 75% over. Everyone relax. No one feels worse than Gerry about today. Iowa St felt like this after we barely beat them. They should have won , but Baylor did.

Iowa State shouldn't "have won", that's ridiculous.

Right lol. Look this team was bound to get beat at some point. Sucks that it's TCU but we are not a CFP team so let's not act like the world is coming to an end. We are just one of several ranked teams that showed there flaws and loss this week. Rebound in the den next week. Moving on to OU

The first INT today was not a major factor in the game. Only the 2nd one sealed our fate.

WTH? The first interception was in the end zone when we were about to take the lead and gain a ton of momentum! In addition it was on 1st down of all things! Every turnover was a "major factor" in a game like that!

Yes, it was important. It did not decide the game. We still could have won it. If not for the second one, we might very well have won. We were moving the ball, had momentum, & were near FG range.

Both INTs were huge. The first one was a fluke bounce of the ball and the second was the result of a very poor decision, but they equally implanted the game.

The second INT cost us the game. The first was a major setback from which we recovered later. I keep trying to make an important distinction & everyone seems to be missing it.

The 1st one was huge because we should have been running the ball at that point (with Smith). Momentum swung with that blocked field goal followed by a deep pass. I think running at that point would have given the defense time to adjust as we moved forward to take the lead

How man times do I have to say the same thing? The first interception did NOT cost us the game. Whatever harm it did was overcome later in the game. In our final possession we had every expectation that we would score & win the game. It was the second one that ruined all those hopes.

I never said the first was unimportant only that it was not AS important & did not end the game.

OK, don't roast me like I read here so much. It just seemed to a non-fan of American football that no.11 cannot throw a laser pass. Like in soccer to beat the defender you have to have ability to do both: either a long lazy kick that allows your sprinter to run to the spot OR you have kick a rocket and expect your receiver to knock it down and control the ball.

All I saw yesterday was a lot of floating passes and the receivers had to make incredible adjustments to make the catch. Even on the last touchdown looked like no.9 had to reach way back to bring it in and the 1st what you call interception I think the ball was severely underthrown whereas their QB seemed to throw lasers all day.

That is my uneducated take...

I noticed this also, but not just Saturday game. The week before when playing UT, his passes to the flat seemed like he lobbed them, had no zip. I really thought UT would intercept one.
I like Gerry as our QB, and interceptions are going to happen, but the kid needs to know when to zip the ball, and when to finesse it.
