Positives

  • After 14 first  half turnovers, the Bears only committed 4 turnovers in the second half
  • The Bears were being outrebounded 18-13 in first half but ended up +9 in rebounds (42-33)
  • Kendall Brown 14 points in second half, he was terrific
  • Adam Flagler had some big time buckets when the game was on the line
  • Matthew Mayer started great and finished great (15 points; 6 rebounds; 2 steals)
  • 75% on free throws; made 11 more free throws than VCU
  • Held VCU under 0.9 points per possession (0.87)
  • Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua was terrific; 13 points (6-8 FG; 1-1 3pt) plus 8 rebounds

Needs Work

  • Not the best game for James Akinjo (7 turnovers and 2 assists)
  • LJ Cryer had a rough game as well (1-6 FG;  4 turnovers and 2 assists)
  • 33% from 3; will need to shoot better against another great defensive team in Michigan State
  • Sochan has not made a FG at the Bahamas.  Needs to see some shots go in
