Positives

  • Defense was really good, nothing came easy for OU.  25 turnovers and held OU to 0.77 points per possession.
  • Timely shot making from Akinjo, Mayer, Flagler and Cryer in the second half.
  • Thamba and Brown were terrific with activity on both ends and especially the glass (18 rebounds between them).
  • Active hands, wingspan matters... the Bears gathered 16 steals.
  • Made free throws.  15-19 from the line and 2 of those misses came from Flagler.  Great to see Kendall Brown go 6-6 from the charity stripe.

Needs Work

  • Prayers up for Akinjo’s tailbone.  He reaggravated his injury on a layup that should have been an and one.  I thought he played well although his shooting was off.  4 steals, 4 assists and only 1 turnover.
  • Love Dale Bonner’s future and I’m sure this will be a coachable point but if you turn it over, don't sulk.  Bust your butt to get back on defense and make up for your mistake.  He had a bad 10 seconds.
  • Too many turnovers (17), but overall very impressed with this 2 game road stand.  Beat KSU.
