Positives

  • Great defensive intensity by Baylor to start the second half.  The Bears go on a 19-4 run to get separation from the Wildcats in the first 8 minutes.
  • Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua was terrific (21 points; 6 rebounds on 9 shots).  No turnovers.
  • Dale Bonner made some heroic plays in the second half.  He was fantastic with 9 points and 4 assists and 3 steals.  He had 4 turnovers but all of the hustle variety.
  • Good to see Akinjo with an efficient floor game- 8 assists and only 2 credited turnovers.  He chipped in 15 points.
  • Great balance overall- 6 players with 8 points or more.
  • Another good night with offensive rebounding (39%), 13 rebounds.
  • 13-17 from free throw line

Needs Work

  • That first 12 minutes of the game was pretty bad- fell down 20-13 and made a lot of uncharacteristic dumb plays on both ends of the court.
  • Defense was very good in the second half.  In the first half, too many easy shots in the paint.  But overall 0.88 points per possession defensively on the road is good.
  • Beat Texas, never forget the arrogance that school has towards Baylor.  Need the fans to be on their A game like Texas Tech fans were in Lubbock against them.
