Positives
- Good to see LJ Cryer back in action. He made two three pointers in 15 minutes.
- James Akinjo and the whole team had a great first half, taking a 7 point lead to the locker room 39-32.
- The 1.06 points per possession offensively is good enough to beat Tech most nights.
- Good fight to cut the lead to 5 with a minute to play
Needs Work
- Defense in second half, yikes... reminiscent of at Kansas and at Alabama. Ended up giving up 1.20 points per possession to a Texas Tech team that has its offensive limits.
- Got punked on the glass 41-30, outhustled in the paint and on the boards. The opposite of what we saw versus Texas.
- Have to convert free throws. Leaving 9 points (in 21 attempts) on the table isn't going to get it done.
- Only 13 turnovers but many of those turnovers led to lay-ups and easy baskets for Tech.
- Felt like we came out ready for a fight but perhaps not a two halves fight. Didn't seem mentally strong in the second half. Need to be a grittier team consistently.
