TO THE TITLE GAME
• Baylor advanced to its 11th-straight Big 12 Championship title game with a 15-point win over Oklahoma. Nicki Collen became the first first-year head coach to advance to the title game since 1997.
• NaLyssa Smith went off with a career-high 37 points in the semifinal. That mark is good for second in Big 12 Championship semifinal history with Brittney Griner being the record holder.
• Caitlin Bickle also had a career day with 21 points.
• Baylor's 91 points tied for the fourth-most all-time in a Big 12 semifinal contest.
• Baylor set a Big 12 Championship record with two turnovers. That mark also tied a program record that was set on Feb. 1, 2014, against Texas.

PITCHED A SHUTOUT
• Baylor set a program record, a Big 12 Championship record, and tied an NCAA record when it held Oklahoma State scoreless in the first quarter on Friday.
• Overall, BU held OSU to 36 points, a Big 12 Championship record, and they won by 40 points, which stands at second for a league tournament margin of victory.
• OSU's 13 field goals were the second-fewest made in the league tournament, and BU held the Cowgirls to 14 points in the first half, good for fifth in the Big 12 Championship record book.
• With the win, Baylor moved to 47-13 all-time at the Big 12 Championship and 17-5 in the quarterfinal round.

TWELVE IN A ROW
• Baylor clinched a share of the regular-season Big 12 title with a 25-point win on the road at No. 8 Iowa State in front of a record crowd at Hilton Coliseum.
• BU's streak of 12 regular-season titles in a row is the longest active streak in the country in men's AND women's hoops.
• The streak ties for fourth all-time in WBB behind Green Bay 20 (1999-2018), Louisiana Tech 15 (2003-17), Stanford 14 (2001-14) and Old Dominion 12 (1993-2004).
• With 24 combined conference championships, Baylor ties Stanford for the most among Power 5 schools since 2004-05.
• With a win over Texas Tech Baylor clinched the Big 12 championship outright.
• Baylor became the first school since Texas Tech in 2000 to start league play 0-2 and end up winning the conference title.

WALKING DOUBLE-DOUBLE
• NaLyssa Smith is fifth in the country with 23 double-doubles on the season. That mark ties her for first all-time in Baylor history alongside Debbie Polk (1980-81).
• Smith is third in program history with 51 career double-doubles.
• The senior is averaging 22.5 points and 11.6 rebounds per game which both rank No. 8 in the country. She is the only player in the country who is averaging 22+ points and 11+ rebounds per game.

LET IT FLY
• Baylor has now set a program record for 3s made (216) and 3s attempted (614) in a single season.
• Baylor's program record for triples made in a game came on Dec. 18, 2019 against Arkansas State when Juicy Landrum caught fire and set an NCAA record with 14 triples. Besides that record-setting performance, BU hadn't drained more than a dozen shots from deep in a game since 2011.
• From 2013-14 to 2020-21, Baylor made 10 or more 3-pointers in a game only five times across a total of 281 games (1.78 percent). BU has done so five times this season.
• At Kansas, Baylor nearly set a record with a 14-for-29 display from the perimeter. BU's 14 treys marked the second-most in program history.
• Prior to this year, only 14 Bears had made six or more 3s in a game. Two of them had done it multiple times (Makenzie Robertson, 2012, 2014) and Jennifer King (1990, 1991, 1993).
• Sarah Andrews and Ja'Mee Asberry have already joined that elite club this season. Andrews went 6-for-8 against Morehead State and from deep and Asberry fired off 6-of-8 against Alcorn State. Asberry then went 6-for-11 at Kansas, and Andrews set a career-high with a 7-for-10 mark.
• Andrews' seven 3s tied for third in program history. She is now one of six Bears in program history to hit a minimum of seven triples in a game.
• Jordan Lewis joined the club with her 6-of-7 performance against Iowa State.
• Asberry is fourth in program history with 74 3s made this season.

It's extremely hard to beat a good team 3 times in one season. Good prep for March Madness because the good teams with capable bigs are going to force our guards to beat them. Can't expect to get 30 plus from her every night. Re group get ready for the dance

Face it we died on the vine today. No excuses just bad basketball. Coaching didn't lose this game. The ball bouncers did.

Allowed to have games like these. Wish it was on Friday. But also glad it's not next weekend.
Disappointing to have an off day today, but it is really hard to beat someone three times! Texas wanted it more.

Texas is tough and had a good game on both ends of the court. We are a better team, just wasn't our day.

It was good for us to have a rough game like this before the tourney starts!

Congratulation to Lyssa Smith on joining the 2000 club! That is an ICON level.

Let's get ready for next week and the first round in WACO!

Let's Go!

Oh well, what the hey, poor UT won one against us. Let's see, between football, men's bball, and women's bball that makes them a grand total of 1 - 5 this academic year. I was kinda feeling sorry for them anyway.

ya'll about ready to fall off that No.1 line. UCONN to be a #1 seed after all the injuries we have had we ready now. Texas is beating Baylor showing that its the guard play thats the weakness for the bear.

Lol who has UConn beaten this year? Y'all are 2 seed no matter what

The worst I have seen a Baylor WBB team come out and play in a big game that meant something in a long time. I was fearful from how lose everyone was acting after yesterday's win this would happen. They acted like they had already won something by beating OU. This team wasn't motivated to win today. The turnovers, the missed free throws, the dumb decisions in the final minutes of the game… taking our sweet time when we still had a chance to cut the lead just being casual and slow. Very disappointing. You can't make any one game too big and they made the OU game too big.

Don't want to make this game too big either. The trolls are doing that but they are not worth paying attention to. What matters is that Baylor won the regular season title again and we will probably be a 1 seed. The tournament next week is much more important and the rest between now & then will help.

Schaefer came with a good gameplan and executed it, one of the few times a Texas coach has done that to us over the past decade. And we simply got outplayed. It happens to everyone. Learn from it, file it away and move on to the tournament that means a bit more.

Yup. Just like baseball, even the better teams lose every now and then. I mean, SC lost their tournament. Just gotta regroup. And come out with more energy!

Agree. I don't think they got to high yesterday. They are tired .. we have 7 players. Sometimes you have bad games and one of those was today. Let's get ready for the dance.

i think it is just simple free throws and turnovers that lost it for us. We clean that up we win.

South Carolina lost the game as well. Does that mean that they won't get to the final four... No. The real games start now

Missed 9 free throws. Can't do that in an elite 8 game. Which this basically was. Gotta clean it up. A lot of that has to do with legs. Also will learn how to get Smith free in a similar defense. We'll be fine. Learning moment. And will remind our girls what it feels like to lose.

Lets see ?? Baylor beat Texas 20 of the last 22 times. Total Dominance. it is logical that they should win at least once in 10 tries. Good luck Texas in the Brackett.. looks like you will see Mulkey in round 2.. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ! You cant beat her either , hahahahahahahahaah !!!
