A one-time Texas Tech pledge, Hackett was offered by Matt Rhule’s staff in early February. Since visiting campus in late February, Hackett has not made a return trip to Waco, but the Baylor staff’s constant pursuit of a top prospect has once again paid off.

2018 BAYLOR FOOTBALL COMMITMENT LIST

Hackett is a tall and lean player who has rushed for over 3,000 yards and 26 touchdowns in his three high school seasons. As a sophomore at The Opening, Hackett ran a 4.56-second 40-yard dash while measuring at 193 pounds.

A versatile player, Hackett's highlight film consist of a variety of playmaking abilities including lining up as a receiver and catching the ball with ease out of the backfield.

Hackett holds offers from UCLA, Texas Tech, Tulsa, Arizona State, and UTSA in addition to Baylor. He was also recruited by several schools including Michigan and Michigan State.

Huge pick up for Rhule. He's figured out to take guys like Hackett off the board while my Ags fight the horns for Ingram. By the time that sorts out, we'll have to settle for some 3* run of the mill RB.
